I would have enjoyed this as a child. Heck, I enjoyed it. Other than almost being captured by the Cromwell forces, nothing bad happened to the children. You knew that Edward had the brains to outwit any thief. Humphrey will have a plan for any problem. And, sometimes a child needs to know that it will all end well. #ChildrensClassics2021 @TheBookHippie

I think that Sara Crewes and Anne Shirley will always be my favorite orphan, but Pollyanna's positive attitude reminds me to be more intentionally kind to others. I have to remember to praise more than complain. #ChildrensClassics2021 @TheBookHippie

I knew it. The whole time I was reading. You can really tell MacDonald's Christian beliefs in this one. An allegory to rival Lewis, Bunyan, and Carroll. Diamond was too pure and innocent to stay in a sinful earth. Having read The Book Thief, I wonder if Zusak had read this. Beautiful end papers. Beautiful story if you don't mind the moral teachings. @TheBookHippie it was very unlike The Princess and the Goblin. #ChildrensClassics2021
