I was delighted by this read. Miracles create more miracles. A year of seasons were beautifully described in a small sugaring community in Pennsylvania. I loved each character, truly ached for the father who was dealing with wartime experiences. I'm glad this is my first 5 🌟 read of 2026. #ChildrensClassicRead2025 How in the world do you find these precious books @TheBookHippie

So thrilled to have participated in this challenge.

TheBookHippie I research, question teachers … I do try to pick really good ones for us without reading reviews or reading it myself -unless I‘m revisiting a classic I think we‘d all like. This one was such a win!!! Happy New Year! 3d

#Read2025

Finished yesterday for #ChildrensClassicRead2025 Thus was a sweet book that was a great read for the season. I liked the family & found family themes, along with hope, giving & the abundance of nature. It made me want to have maple syrup on snow.

TheBookHippie I know!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️ 1w
IriDas I remember reading this to my kids. A very nice book. :) 🍁 1w

#Naturalitsy #HyggeHoyrReadthon

Spending my #HyggeHour reading the tagged book for #ChildrensClassicRead2025 while listening to holiday movies in the background.

Drinking a Hint Spiced Pear water because I need to hydrate & eating some of the Mambo Magic Sticks my colleague gave me because I always hoard the mango ones in meetings.

Mood is good because while tomorrow is going to be a very busy day, I have the rest of the week off. 🙏🏼💚❤️💚

I‘ve had this book on my class shelves for years but never read it myself. It was a lovely story about community and hope. I loved seeing Marly‘s joy in everything she learned from the names of beautiful spring flowers to all about tapping trees for maple syrup.

MemoirsForMe I also loved viewing the world through the joyful eyes of Marly. 🙌🏻❤️ 3w

Thx @TheBookHippie for introducing us to this heart-warming story about family, community, the healing power of nature & the art of making maple syrup. I adored this book & trivia from @Suet624 & @tpixie So cool that the owner of a PA maple farm created a museum to honor this beloved classic. The author‘s son even donated the actual Newbery Award so that kids who visit the museum and have read the book can hold the medal!

A quiet Friday night at home is the perfect time for a glass of cranberry wine and a few pages from each of these December reads. I also listened to the next chapter of The Crime at Black Dudley while I made supper.
