AllDebooks I've taken refuge in books this week. The real world has been too much. 6d
Librarybelle I found I wanted to read last night, which it‘s been a few days since I really could. There‘s been a lot on my mind, and Heather Cox Richardson‘s post this morning puts it into words so eloquently. She‘s an amazing political historian who bases everything she says on facts and history. But, this weekend is usual routines, with Sunday being a family get together. These checkins are so nice. Thank you! ❤️ 6d
Bookwormjillk Happy Saturday. I have a busy week next week so I have to do some prep this weekend. I also have been doing some research for books to read next year which is fun. 6d

Cuilin What a week! there‘s never been a time in my life where I prefer audiobooks to reading, but I did this week. All I wanted to do was curl up and listen to David Copperfield‘s life. Today I‘m going Providence RI to get my daughter for the long weekend. 6d
Cuilin @Librarybelle H Cox Richardson is amazing. 6d
DogMomIrene @Librarybelle @Cuilin I may need to suck it up and subscribe/pay for H Cox Richardson‘s substack. @Suet624 mentioned her to me. I‘ve tried Substack before and was overwhelmed by the number of emails I received. Wondering what you all would say the average read time is for her posts? Under ten minutes? Like could I make her a daily morning read with coffee? And then continue coffee with Litsy time (obviously 😉) 6d
Cuilin @DogMomIrene I follow her on TikTok. 6d
Suet624 @DogMomIrene @Librarybelle - I've followed Heather for years. You can read her on Facebook but the simplest method is subscribing on Substack. You don't have to pay for it if you don't want to. She is also doing an audio version if you're interested in that. It comes out later in the day. Did you see the post she wrote the day after the election? And her posts generally take less than 10 minutes to read. 6d
Librarybelle @DogMomIrene @Suet624 @Cuilin I just started following her on FB, after reading the reposts friends would do! I also heard her speak a few weeks ago at a virtual event, and I was struck by how articulate and knowledgeable she is. I have her books and really need to read them. I agree with @Suet624 …it takes me less than 10 minutes to read her posts. 6d
AllDebooks @Librarybelle How have I never heard of her? I'll be checking out her posts. Thank you. Knowledge is power! Honestly, these #chatterdays are a blessing and it's so much fun to check in. 6d
AllDebooks @Bookwormjillk it's always fun to plan future reads. I hope your prep gies well. 6d
AllDebooks @Cuilin Same! I've found them better at quietening the mind. And I've certainly needed that. Enjoy your long weekend and have a safe trip. 6d
AllDebooks @DogMomIrene I've just followed her FB page 6d
AllDebooks I have to say Litsy has been a lifeline this week. I've avoided other socials and news, cos it was too much. I've never felt so overwhelmed. The love and compassion of Littens has been a source of comfort. I've never known on an online community that is so supportive of each other. Thank you #Littens 😊 6d
TheBookHippie @DogMomIrene it‘s under 10 and her daily letter is free. https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/november-8-2024 6d
AllDebooks I'm spending the weekend on planning #MidwinterSolace I think we're really going to need it. And it will run thru Dec and Jan again. ❄️❤️❄️ 6d
TheBookHippie Well considering people I love and even some on here voted against my being it‘s 😵💫. The people being really quiet because they don‘t dare say hate out loud and actually do know how dangerous it is now for me, and my students especially, (and a large population of people that live in the US) is hard to digest. I‘m not trying to be divisive. It‘s truth. So I‘m grappling with that this morning. (edited) 6d
TheBookHippie @AllDebooks 💙💙💙💙💙 6d
AllDebooks @TheBookHippie I couldn't sleep last night after reading Project 2025 earlier in the day. 6d
TheBookHippie @AllDebooks I read it long ago. It‘s terrifying. 6d
AllDebooks @TheBookHippie it really is. I'd readnewspaper reports but the actual document is so much more sinister abd divisive 6d
DogMomIrene @Suet624 @Cuilin @Librarybelle @AllDebooks @TheBookHippie Thank you Littens! I‘m following her on Substack with notifications through the app only, which will pair nicely with some Litsy coffee time while keeping my email a little less jumbled. Already read her 11/8 post and I‘m all in. 6d
Suet624 @DogMomIrene 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 6d
Suet624 @TheBookHippie Ugh. I know. Thank you for sharing the truth. 6d
kspenmoll Litsy has been my safety net. Taking it easy after election fallout. Talking with like minded friends has helped. Just reading & walking today. Nature soothes me. Trying to keep the terror at bay. 6d
dabbe Thanks for the tag, @MaleficentBookDragon. 😘 I just have to say it: what a fucking week. I also picked a great week to have a dental implant removed--plus finding out I had a pretty bad infection. Just the cherry on the banana split that reeks of mold. But ... the sun keeps rising, and the earth keeps spinning. And this is a place of solace and healing. Thanks, Littens. #onedayatatime 💙 6d
Catsandbooks Feeling overwhelmed, enraged, and exhausted. Been watching a lot of hallmark Christmas movies. My plan for the rest of the year is to really lean into all things comfort and cozy. I just wanna stay in and not deal with people. 5d
