#pemberlittens #chapter43 It is decided that Margaret will return to London. Mr. Bell writes her a letter explaining her father‘s burial in Oxford, she will get an allowance from him, and Cpt. Lennox and John are there. Margaret goes about Milton saying goodbye to Mary, Mrs. Thornton who is now having tender feelings, John who stupidly does not profess his love again, and finally Higgins. Higgins is kind and she gives him Mr. Hale‘s bible.

Julsmarshall Every day it gets harder for me to not just finish the book. Anyone else? 3y
Crinoline_Laphroaig @Julsmarshall I'm determined to stay the course. 3y

#Chapter43 #November1st #DOWRTR

This chapter is bittersweet & the first time I read it, I was teary-eyed when I saw the note Matthew leaves for Sarah & Em. Such a sweet gesture.

📜What did you think of the novel? Did you enjoy it? Did it meet or exceed your expectations?

📖Would you like to move on to Shadow of Night as a group? The real-time read is more chaotic, but we could go at a simpler pace? Let me know below!

Librarybelle It was a bittersweet end! But, I‘m so glad I read this book, so thank you for leading the real time reading on Litsy! I did start Shadow of Night and had planned to do the chaotic real time read but would be interested in reading as a group in a not so very chaotic group read. 3y
katy4peas I would read another one with the group. I have about 5% of the book left, but I know I will want to jump into the next book! I hope the rest of the series is as good as this first one! 3y
BookNAround I went out and bought 2 and 3 immediately. I didn‘t expect to enjoy it nearly as much as I did so I‘m so glad for the push to read it. And yes, I‘d read along again. 3y

Lynnsoprano Thanks for putting this together! It‘s the slowest read of this book I‘ve done, and I admit to finishing early anyway ☺️ Since Shadow of Night is my favorite of the trilogy (I know, I‘m weird, but part is set in my beloved Prague) I‘m definitely in on a read together, real time or otherwise. 3y
Catsandbooks Yes definitely will be reading the rest of the series! And would love to have a group to discuss with! 3y
peanutnine I enjoyed this readalong immensely! I am planning on reading the next book and would love to read with the group for discussion ☺️ 3y
AFrostCauseReads I enjoyed this book so much more than I was expecting to! I was about to read the next one too, might as well do it as a group! 3y
Laughterhp Yes! I already have the second book ready to go! 3y
catebutler This has been one of my favourite read-alongs, so thank you so much for hosting this!! I would love to continue with the series, so just let us know when you want to start. 3y
ElizaMarie I loved it! I think the next book will end up being audible because I didn't have it purchased yet.. But I am super excited about it! Thank you again for hosting!!! 3y

We‘re getting in to my favorite part of the book. In the first half of the chapter we get great exposition of Darcy‘s character from those who know him best. Darcy then arrives home and we encounter Elizabeth at her most uncomfortable, though she‘s glad he can meet a less embarrassing part of her family. We are treated to a lot of mutual blushing -gratifying for all of us who crave Elizabeth/Darcy moments.

alisiakae This is such a great chapter! 4y
sharread This one and after the church are my favorites. 4y
