“I passed through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops…”

Here is another book I read for a challenge in November. #AuthorAMonth @Soubhiville
This one is hard to rate. I liked the magical quality to the story but felt the ending was a bit too put together and didn't fit the feel of the story. This aside, it was one that pulled at my heart. 4⭐️

1) A dark damp weekend day at the lake in my reading corner; or a cool bright day on the back patio at the lake—my two “awesomest” reading spots
2) I was excited about our #authoramonth author, and so far I‘ve enjoyed the tagged book by her the most

The past few weeks have been filled with more medical stuff and other disappointments so even though things are improving, I have been having a really hard time reading. It was lovely to have the #authoramonth excuse to pick up a cozy reread. This was exactly what I needed, a feel good read filled with magic and charm.
Josey waits on her mother hand and foot, until one day a woman in town starts hiding out in her closet, and discovering Josey‘s secret stash of junk food. Della Lee, the closet lady hiding from her abusive boyfriend, encourages Josey to discover herself and love. Meanwhile Josey befriends Chloe—whose unusual magic means books appear from nowhere, giving her their own advice on her decisions (who doesn‘t want to be Chloe!). So much magic, ⬇️
I‘m listening to this one next for #authoramonth @Soubhiville
This was a pleasant listen for #AuthorAMonth
I loved that there was a character that had books just appear when she needed them, and the winter setting let me pretend it‘s not currently 80 degrees in November.
