I really enjoyed another book by this author I read for #foodandlit #Finland this month. So this was an automatic buy for me. On sale today. @Catsandbooks

This was entertaining and wryly clever right up until the end. I want to read the rest of the trilogy now. And I also want to visit Finland. They have an odd, almost absurdist turn of mind there, I think I‘d like it 😊 If you are not familiar with Finnish quirkiness, try this trilogy, or a book in the genre of “Finnish weird.” That‘s a thing. Johanna Sinisalo is a good author to start with.

“The last time I was here was with Lizard Man and AK. Both men tried to kill me but ended up killing themselves instead.” Oh, is that all? 😂 This is the e-book for July at my library - unlimited copies, no waiting. I am enjoying its extremely wry Finnish humor. The fact that the abnormally serious and logical main character (autism spectrum?) has inherited a kids‘ theme park is amusing in itself. Now I want to read the first book in the series.

We are still in Brittany, the weather hasn‘t been great but the rain is taking a break so I‘m enjoying one of my 40th birthday pressies (you are supposed to put ice in this Moët I‘m not an animal!) And continuing this thriller about an actuary and an adventure park.

My newest Vonnegut acquisition: a first edition collection of short stories. This collection is no longer printed because most of the stories also appear in Welcome to the Monkey House, which is still in print. It is in excellent condition for a 1961 paperback, and that cover illustration is fascinating.

I‘ve been on what can only be described as a kindle buying rampage 😬😬 10 books.. that must be a record. 99p each though. I couldn‘t say no!!
