Leftcoastzen @batsy he spent so much time traveling to find a place /climate to improve his health. It seemed to me that he was more open to the cultures he encountered than some of his generation.Fanny , love of his life , he had met in Europe,her fleeing an unfaithful husband with kids in tow, she was American, she settled in San Francisco. So their honeymoon was not too far from home. 7y

batsy I only know him as the Kidnapped guy, which I struggled to read in its abridged version while in school 😂 But this sounds a lot more intriguing and I will keep it in mind to check out. 7y
