Anita, a smart, confident beat poet who is a supporter of Malcolm X meets a kind, handsome “do-gooder” named Jason, who is organizing for Dr Martin Luther King Jr. in 1963 Harlem. Really enjoying this historical romance and discussion of the ongoing struggle for racial justice. I am loving the poems Anita reads at the mic at the bar where she waitresses.
