So so so good. This book made me cry so hard. Beautifully written and engrossing.

#bookplates Haven‘t posted one of these in awhile. When I was reading things from the 1920s I was obsessed with finding this book, pre internet days . Wilson was primarily a critic , went to school with F.Scott Fitzgerald , his marriage to Mary McCarthy was tumultuous & detailed in several works. Not considered a great novel , more of interest because characters are based on people he hung with in Greenwich Village.Even kept hand written receipt!

After a Friday night that had way more fear and unease than I prefer (severe thunderstorm warnings, tornado watches, heavy rains, lightening, high winds, OH MY!), this is the perfect Saturday night 🥰♥️ Hope everyone is having a restful evening and are safe if you were also affected by Mother Nature‘s wrath 😵‍💫

This is an emotional, poignant love story of both romantic love and love between a mother and daughter. It moved me in the end - I teared up multiple times - but it also felt really slow and overly wordy for the majority of the book.

It feels great to finally check this off my TBR! This was my oldest unread #BOTM purchase. Now I only have to catch up on my 2023 picks! 😊

This pretty historical fiction was a perfect palate cleanser between spicy romances (still stuck on those lol). It‘s a bit wordy, but in a beautiful sort of way that I can‘t ever get enough of… dual timelines and multiple POVs, perhaps a wee bit predictable, but still a delightful read.

4.5⭐️ I wasn‘t sure how I‘d end up feeling about this heavily influenced by The Great Gatsby themed book. But Wood made it her own, despite having the sections broken up by Great Gatsby quotes. Young writer, Louise, is swept up into the glitz of summer parties and affluent life by the Cardew siblings. It‘s a coming of age novel that fortunately has a happier ending than Gatsby does. A relaxing, escapist read.
