Clwojick I know i'm super early in my plans, but do you want to cohost another round of #JumpStart2021 in January? I was thinking of making it a month long readathon/challenge with prompts, and a bingo board. 4y
Lizpixie @Clwojick for sure! That sounds brilliant, a month long gives us more chances to make it interesting I think. Do you have WhatsApp? 4y
Clwojick I don‘t! I do have slack though. And Houseparty, but I think that ones just video chats 4y
Lizpixie @Clwojick I have slack but I‘ve found WhatsApp to be better if you want to download it. Up to you lovely, either ones fine with me👍 4y

The Shadow of the Wind | Carlos Ruiz Zafon
post image

Shadow of the Wind is one of my favorite books. Written by Carlos Ruiz Zafon who is known as the Charles Dickens of Barcelona it has been translated from Spanish. Daniel‘s father initiated him into the secret of the Cemetery of Forgotten Books and asked him to choose a book. Daniel chooses The Shadow of the Wind and then goes in search of the author, Julian Carax. The book proves to be very dangerous to own. Read this book and find out why!

Velvetfur That book sounds amazing! I love stories about mysterious or legendary books - stacked this one! 😊 6y
EadieB @velvetfaur It‘s a great book and one I‘m sure you will enjoy! 6y

Wow. Wow, wow, wow. This book is a beautifully written gothic tale about a boy and the strange mystery he uncovers about the author of his favorite book. While in pursuit of the truth, Daniel finds himself entangled in a story of tragedy, vengeance, redemption, and danger. #litsyreadingchallenge #rc15 #betterworldbookchallenge #translatedbook

LeeRHarry This is one of my faves, glad you enjoyed it 😊 7y
DragonSadhana @LeeRHarry I would have never have thought to read it if it weren't for these amazing book challenges! 7y
sprainedbrain One of my favorites, also! I read it last year for a challenge and absolutely loved it. ❤️ 7y
DragonSadhana @sprainedbrain Did you try the sequel? I need to read another book for the challenges, but next year I'm going to be reading the sequels to all these books I've read this year! 😂 7y
sprainedbrain @DragonSadhana I have the second and the third on my shelves... haven't read them yet though! 😳 7y

Whoa! This book was effed up! Truly despicable characters with so much moral ambiguity. This would make for excellent book club discussion. Obligation to patients/family, Trust/ honor , victim or villain??? So many questions
This book was dark and disturbing. Total creep! Filled a few of my challenges too. #LRC15 #translatedbook #popsugar #bookwithseasonintitle @BetterWorldBooks #translatedbook

Cinfhen @Book_Addict @ChasingOm This is one sick dude, but I'm a fan😊I just wouldn't want to leave my daughter alone in his company 😬 @mauveandrosysky if you're in the mood for twisted and dark, definitely go for it! I'm definitely going to try 8y

I finished this last night and I loved it. I cried and laughed and then laughed while sobbing (which btw scares a sleeping husband and a sleeping cat awake) and I would recommend it to anyone on the fence about reading it. It's a quick and satisfying read!

Ove is a grumpy old man, but I identified with him so much. AND OH GOD HIM AND THE CAT. 😻😻😻

✔️ #LitsyReadingChallenge: #translatedbook (4/25)

#translatedbook for #somethingforsept #septreadingchallenge @RealLifeReading
Originally published in Swedish, I do wonder if something got lost in translation because I found the story a little flat. Still, punk rock tween memoir graphic novels are a genre I didn't know I needed until I got this book from Landfall Freight (RIP)
