I‘ve been spending the morning doing some miscellaneous PR stuff for the library and keeping an eye on things in Children‘s, so now it‘s time to make some more progress with “The Other Einstein,” and the kombucha I just cracked open! 😋 #theothereinstein #mariebenedict

Getting ready to start @OverDrive's latest #BigLibraryRead, #TheOtherEinstein. All about Mitza Maric, the woman who later became Albert Einstein's wife, a largely unsung genius. I remember watching a documentary about her years ago, & learning about how brilliant she was. Especially in math.
Since then I've always wanted to know more about her. And now I can. Maybe this will inspire me to research her life even more.

#TheOtherEinstein is a work of fiction but #MarieBenedict did base ideas and plot of the story from the letters the Einsteins wrote to each other, friends, and colleagues so there is no definitive proof that Mitza did collaborate or actually came up with any of Einstein's theories and deserves credit. Albert Einstein was put up on a pedestal by the world for his groundbreaking theories that changed science forever but he was a very flawed human.

This is an interesting read. It started a lot of conversations in my head about scenarios I never would have thought of had I not read it. Its focus is narrow and purpose singular, but it's a good read, if only for the speculation you're bound to begin as soon as you're done reading.
