Megabooks It just takes time. Some narrators are easier to speed up than others. I listened to most of The Poet X at 1.7 4y
JennyM That‘s my max speed. Anything above 1.5 and I just can‘t take it in. Mega speedsters are impressive!!! (edited) 4y
squirrelbrain Yes, I‘m mostly at 1.5 too @JennyM @Megabooks Cindy - I have done some at 1.75 but usually only male narrators - women get too chipmunky for me at that speed! 4y

Hooked_on_books It took me a couple years to get up to 2x. My husband either makes chipmunk comments when he hears my book or asks me what language it is. 😂 4y

Daisey @squirrelbrain “too chipmunky” is exactly right 😂 and I agree that 1.5 is usually just right for me. I also often work the speed up gradually through a book. @Cinfhen the narrator absolutely makes a difference! 4y
squirrelbrain My husband is the same @Hooked_on_books - he thinks I‘m mad! I‘m trying to persuade him to listen to a book when we drive the campervan somewhere long-distance and I think I might have to cheat with the speed, just keep on pushing it up gradually hoping he won‘t notice! @Daisey 4y
