pickWhat can I say, I‘m a sucker for books with Death as a narrator. I had a few issues with this one (the fact that the timeline was so short but they spent FOREVER in one house talking about doing things), but I loved that Blake gave all the characters with romances history, so it wasn‘t insta-love. Also the art on the end pages? Gorgeous.

so-soIf you like math, you‘ll love this book. I don‘t like math, and I don‘t like paradoxes in my plots. I did like the romance, and the mystery, and the ghosts tho! Finally, an author that will let her FMC be MAD!! I love it.

panWow that was disappointing. Sudden transphobia in the middle there, and the inconsistent chapter timelines hurt my brain. Having read a book on Columbine earlier this year, the last chapter really rubbed me the wrong way.

so-soA gorgeous cover and interesting premise got me intrigued, but overall this book was very disappointing. The FMC attends an elite girls prep school, returning after a year away dealing with mental health breakdown due to the traumatic death of her best friend/secret girlfriend. The dark academia aesthetic really failed for me, since despite numerous references to the FMC‘s intended thesis there‘s basically no magical explanation or studies. More >
