Pickpick

I finished the last chapters of this book with supper tonight. This was actually the first book of the series I read, and I think it might still be my favorite. We‘ll see as I continue this series reread. I found both mysteries absolutely fascinating, and the historical setting as vivid as well. I like the continuing friendship between Shardlake & Guy, and Barak definitely adds an interesting dynamic and useful investigative skills.

It‘s the first week of school and my to do list is so long, but I took a short break this evening for supper and one chapter. Maybe I can fit in another later tonight.

I started listening to this while prepping and grilling supper tonight. I don‘t tend to be a fan of Woolf‘s style, but so far I‘m kind of enjoying listening.

I finally read the rest of this book, but I ended up skimming some sections. It‘s got some decent information, but I had to push myself to keep going.

My 7th graders read this with another teacher and told me it was a great book, so I borrowed it from her to read now that school‘s out. I‘m thoroughly enjoying it, even with the heartbreaking moments.

I‘ve made it to the third section of this novel, and I am intrigued by these stories so far. I‘m enjoying lots of interesting vocabulary; being able to just click in my kindle version to see meanings makes it so much simpler to look things up as I read.

tpixie Is your kindle responsiveness fast? My paperwhite is so slow- sometimes I switch to my phone app to search 10mo
Daisey @tpixie It‘s actually an old iPad that I mainly use for my class library. I only used it for the photo and a couple pages before going back to my phone without actually looking anything up. 10mo

I‘ve only managed to read a few pages each day this week, so I‘m starting Chapter 3 “Mount Doom” with supper tonight and planning to catch up this weekend. This is a tough section as Sam and Frodo struggle on their journey, but it‘s also so descriptive.

JazzFeathers I'm still on the battlefield of Gondor. But I'm slowly moving. Yet, these chapters seems to hit home hard than usual. They are really sucking me in. 12mo
