pickI enjoyed this, though not as much as previous books. Dorothy is really obnoxious in the beginning and it annoyed me a lot how Baum wrote her pronunciation, especially since it‘s a change from the first book. But it‘s funny (albeit quite dark at times, in a way the narrative doesn‘t seem to acknowledge) and the characters—Billina the talking hen, Langwidere the lazy princess with her heads, Tik-Tok—are delightful. #BeyondtheYellowBrickRoad

Billina is in my top 5 favorite Oz characters! & this story is so charming & lets us explore more fairy countries. We get to meet new friends like Tik-Tok & the Hungry Tiger, the iconic Langwidere, & the Nomes! & an epic rescue, w/ Billina saving all!🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑
A complex #LoveHatePairing of Elphaba and Glinda. Loved being able to take my older granddaughters to see Wicked on Broadway when each was a Senior in high school. Loved Part One of the movie version, too. May never read the book, though.
