The first of my #nfbe #2018nfbe books - thank you @Smarkies ! I pulled this off the shelf while looking for something earlier and ended up reading it cover-to-cover in one sitting.

Written by a 13-yr-old Japanese boy with autism, this is a beautiful description of how he experiences his world, and a plea for understanding. Fascinating, eye-opening, in parts heartbreaking, and highly recommended.

batsy @LapReader Some of the tea pouches had split so I've put them into a container; what blend is it? They smell lovely 😊 Also, the box had been pried open in the front unfortunately, but it doesn't look like anything was tampered with. 7y

LapReader Excellent news! Maybe customs opened it to check on the tea? The package the tea came in would not fit in the box when I got to the post office. Sorry but all I can remember was it was fruity. 7y

I have been reading the daily affirmations from Journey to the Heart in the morning on the days I go to yoga! I have never been one to like daily reading style books (secular ones are few and far between), but this one soothes my soul. 😊

AlaMich This is interesting to me, because I‘ve always been intrigued by those books but, as you say, all the ones I have seen have a religious focus. I will have to check this out. 7y

alisiakae @AlaMich While God is mentioned occasionally, it is not tied to one specific spiritual tradition. It‘s not preachy at all, and does not contain any quotes from religious texts, at least not what I have read so far. The teachers at my yoga studio read from it often. (edited) 7y

I have only done three Litsy swaps & two of them opened today. This is my nonfiction book swap from @ReadingEnvy and it's great too. I have wanted to read The Witches by Stacy Schiff. This time in history is so fascinating to me. The other book is not one with which I'm familiar but it looks intriguing. The goodies that came with are all cute! Thank you!
