Freida McFadden is a safe go-to for a psychological thriller type book that will almost never end how you think. Her books are so so easy to read. Too easy. Once I start, I have to keep going. I think this one is one of my favorites so far because I did find it interesting how the MC was healing after her injury. Plus, there were some pretty funny moments between brain injury patients in the rehab hospital. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It‘s been 3 years since I‘ve posted on here! Hope all of you are well! Happy weekend and happy reading!!
This story is less “psychological thriller-y” than I expected based on other Freida books I‘ve read. Less twisty. Charlotte is shot by someone and suffers brain damage with loss of function on her left side. As she goes thru rehab to recover function, she works to solve the mystery of who shot her. I enjoyed reading about her rehab and relationships there, and I loved the medical aspects of the story. Charlotte‘s story was heartbreaking at times.
These are my top ten reads for 2023! See why here: https://charityrau.wordpress.com/2023/12/31/top-ten-reads-of-2023/ #toptenreads
Just started this book liking it so farFreida is an amazing author! Just finished this book very good as usual!
Not my favorite of Freida‘s.. a little too “mushy”ish for her, but still good, and I still flew through it with her great style of writing.

After years of hard work, Dr. Charly McKenna finally has it all. Prosperous career as a dermatologist? Check. Spacious apartment overlooking Central Park? Check. Handsome lawyer husband? Double check. Then one night, a bullet rips through the right side of her skull and she loses everything.
A woman gets shot in the head and survives but has to figure out how to put her life back together and solve the crime. This dragged on with little action. Each chapter was titled “Four months later” which was redundant. They should‘ve been titled “Day 120”, “Day 121”, etc. The mystery was easy to solve as well. I‘ll try the author again, but this wasn‘t the best.
