This one was great on audio. Both heartbreaking and surprisingly uplifting, Parkland tells the story of the activism that rose out of the horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in Florida.

This was a fun and thrilling conclusion to the series. The audio book is really amazing. The end is a little sappy, but that's okay. Plus, in the wake of #marchforourlives, a book about teenagers saving the world doesn't seem far fetched.
1. Tagged book from my TBR. Her message to the teens and marchers on Saturday brought tears to my eyes. #marchforourlives
2. I make my schedule, and am going on vacation at the end of April. (Powell‘s Bookstore here I come!)
3. Portulaca, helibores, sunflowers
4. Dark chocolate eggs #veganlitten

Our family was well represented at the West Palm Beach #marchforourlives yesterday. @Ambrosnazzy went with her husband and son, who had a very Litsy-appropriate sign.
Show this to anyone who says high school kids can‘t make change. Those Parkland students paid attention to 1960s history in class! Or they‘re just THAT fed up with political establishment figures, just like the Senator‘s daughter mentioned above. #marchforourlives
Starting this this weekend feels very appropriate. I'll be honest, this one has been on my shelf for a long while, and I've been a little nervous to read it. I was a junior in high school when this tragedy happened, and it profoundly affected me. The fact that it has been repeated so many times since then is shameful. #marchforourlives
Someone snapped this photo of children‘s book author/illustrator Kevin Sherry at the DC #marchforourlives & he shared it on his Instagram. I love him & I love this picture. I love his unabashed ownership of the term “Millennial,” and the way his sign is both a promise and a threat. It‘s double-sided, & the reverse reads, “No Excuses. Ban Assault Rifles Now.”
Our friend Mike caught this one at the #MarchForOurLives in Lancaster, PA today. We had thousands out marching in our little city. (Wish I could have been there, but I had a class to take that was required for my license.)
