#LittensLoveRomance Ch.50-53: In a nice twist, Park‘s father - who really is a decent guy - gives him permission to drive Eleanor to her uncle‘s. I only hope her uncle takes her in. Poor Eleanor doesn‘t have any other options. I felt bad that she had to make the decision to leave her siblings. But in the end, she‘s right in that they would have been doomed from the start if she tried to take them. We‘ll finish with the final few chapters tomorrow.

TheSpineView Park's father was a total surprise. A good one too. 7h
LiseWorks I think it is going to be hard on both if she gets to stay there. 4h
OriginalCyn620 @TheSpineView Yes, that was a surprise! And I love that he was so concerned about Eleanor and wanting her to be okay and away from her stepdad. 1h

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.45-49: ugh so scary. Eleanor‘s step dad is a predator and he needs to be stopped. I really hope she can get away from him and make it ok on her own. Props to Tina for helping her - of all people. That was surprising but in a good way. Kids need to stick up for each other. Now comes the goodbye 💔

OriginalCyn620 I love that Tina helped her! Totally awesome. And Ritchie is just horrible! 21h
LiseWorks I couldn't believe that Ritchie was the one marking her books. And it was good to see Tina step up. 14h
TheSpineView Tina's actions were a surprise. Ritchie is vile. 11h

#LittensLoveRomance Sorry for the missed post. I fell asleep early last night due to a cold. Ch.41-44: even as Eleanor and Park grow closer physically, we know they‘re on borrowed time. I feel like with her mom cornering her and talking about boys, she knows more than she is letting on. If every kid in their neighborhood knows, I‘m sure some adults do too. Someone could have mentioned it. Which is dangerous for Eleanor. ⬇️

StayCurious Ritchie seems to be simmering and I know things will explode soon enough. 2d
OriginalCyn620 This book is breaking my heart 💔 2d

Pickpick

I loved the 80s setting…brought back some memories for sure. This is a sad love story, but a really good one too.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.37-40: Sigh, poor Eleanor and Park. They have so many issues. I can see why they‘re labled as star crossed lovers. 😢 Eleanor, for good reason, has really low self esteem. (That darn Tina! I feel violent tendencies towards her.) And Park needs to have a bit more empathy when it comes to what Eleanor is dealing with. At least when it comes to Tina. ⬇️

StayCurious He can‘t just sweep their past under the rug - clearly Tina hasn‘t forgotten. And neither has Eleanor. 4d
LiseWorks I get the feeling that he still thinks Tina is good from what he remof her 4d

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.33-36: I think Park‘s mom was sweet trying to share her love of make up with Eleanor. Even if she may have been a bit overzealous. And I think Park‘s dad was sweet telling Eleanor she was always welcome at their home. Was his reaction to Park‘s new look a bit upsetting? Yes, but also very typical of the time and his character. I think Park is lucky to have his parents. As we know, not everyone is so lucky.

OriginalCyn620 It‘s very sweet that Eleanor is welcome in Park‘s home, but it probably makes her feel worse that she doesn‘t have that kind of stable and loving environment. And yes, Park‘s dad seems to be harder on him than his brother, but I think it comes from a place of love. He doesn‘t want Park to be bullied for the eyeliner thing, and probably wants him to drive a stick so that if he absolutely had to, he could…like maybe in an emergency or something. 5d
TheSpineView I think his dad is concerned he will be bullied for it 5d
LiseWorks I'm glad that Eleanor has a safe place to go. But I'm concerned that she will be found out that she is not hanging out with Tina 5d

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.29-32: this book just keeps getting sadder. I can‘t imagine Eleanor being stuck in her room for 3 weeks of Xmas break thinking she‘s broken up with Park. How bleak. And her mom really isn‘t any help. I couldn‘t believe what she said to Eleanor on Christmas about being like a family. So wrong. I‘m glad Eleanor and Park made up but the more I read of this book, the more depressed I get. I‘m trying to see the good moments.

LiseWorks I feel the same, like the kids can't do anything. And really, is Ricky providing for this family? 6d
TheSpineView It is totally sad. Parents that aren't parents and don't get me started on Eleanor 's Mom being delusional. 6d

OriginalCyn620 It is sad, for sure. Really it‘s more tragic, that there are kids who grow up in similar environments. Again, I‘m just glad that Eleanor can rely on Park for some nice moments. 6d
StayCurious @OriginalCyn620 yes, it is an important topic to shed light on for sure. And a reminder that not all romances are happy ones. 6d
CrowCAH Definitely an emotional book. 6d

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.25-28: as Eleanor‘s home life grows increasingly tense, as she worries about being kicked out again, she starts to take refuge at Park‘s home and with his family, bit by bit. Park is starting to be less embarrassed by her actions and appearance as they get used to being with each other. It‘s sweet but I‘m feeling very off kilter thinking of what Ritchie is going to do next. I can‘t imagine living in that environment.

LiseWorks I still liked to know if this guy is a drug dealer, gambler, or what. Her mom having to scrounge for food and clothing is bad. 7d
willaful Relating to Eleanor's situation is one of the reasons I loved this book so much. 7d

TheSpineView I get the feeling that everything is going to come to a head soon. 7d
OriginalCyn620 Eleanor‘s situation is so horrible! IDK who I‘m more angry with - Ritchie for being a horrible husband and father or her mom for putting up with it. But at least she has one bright spot with Park. His sweetness is adorable! 7d
SarahBookInterrupted I‘m so glad Eleanor has Parks house to escape the continued tension at home. 7d

#LittensloveRomance Ch.21-24: well that was scary. Ritchie is so dangerous. And those cops were useless. I mean seriously useless. I was also sad about Park‘s mom‘s opinion of Eleanor. I was expecting better. I think Park was expecting better. He‘s learning some tough lessons as he navigates his relationship with Eleanor.

TheSpineView Is it just me, or are all the adults in this story douche bags!?! 1w
OriginalCyn620 @TheSpineView No, it‘s definitely not just you! 1w
LiseWorks I was also disappointed in Parks Mother! 1w
SarahBookInterrupted The police made me so angry! They should know the risk some kids are making. Shouldn‘t that be in their training! 😡 1w
