Bklover I am having a very hard time with this. I‘m even using the Lit charts to explain chapters after I read them. People love this book. I feel inept. I can‘t tell if things are getting set up for future events or if these are events themselves. I can‘t imagine why anyone would tolerate being in a room with Fyodor. Alexei seems very naive. I can‘t keep Ivan and Dimitri straight in my mind. This Katerina person must have a lust for bad boys. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 11mo

TheAromaofBooks @Bklover - I think I'm going to have to find some kind of character list. People keep drifting in and out and everyone has multiple names. I'm struggling!! 😂 11mo
Bklover Me too!!! Sometimes I‘m not even sure who is talking! 11mo
5feet.of.fury @Bklover you are not alone in your struggle 11mo
Ruthiella It is now my mission to find out the reason for the bow! 😆 11mo
CatLass007 Who‘s Katalina? I just finished this chapter and I don‘t remember anyone named Katalina. I‘m so confuuused. I know I said I‘d finish the final two chapters of this section to see if something happens, but I‘m doubtful I can. I will wait until tomorrow and see how I feel. 11mo
BarkingMadRead @CatLass007 Katarina is the chick that Dmitri is supposed to marry. He wants to throw her over so he can marry the prostitute. I think he plans to pass her on to Ivan, 11mo
Cuilin The way this chapter ended. I think it‘s all about to kick off. (edited) 11mo
CatLass007 Oh yeah I guess I do remember about her. 11mo
TheBookHippie @TheAromaofBooks want me to send you mine ?? 11mo
dabbe @CatLass007 Isn't she also the one who had a letter delivered to the hermitage, asking Alyosh/Alexai/#whateverthehellhisnameis to come and see her? Or did I hallucinate that? #oythisbook 11mo
CatLass007 @dabbe I thought it was the girl in the wheelchair who asked Alexei to come visit her. Is Katarina the one in the wheelchair? 11mo
BarkingMadRead @CatLass007 @dabbe ohhhhhh maybe? I will have to page back and look. The girl in the wheelchair brought a note from someone else, I do remember that 11mo
TheAromaofBooks @TheBookHippie - If you have one, yes please!! itsthegoodlife15 at gmail!!! 11mo
Bookwormjillk SCANDALOUS SCENE ALERT Y‘ALL 11mo
currentlyreadinginCO The discussion today helped me to understand this chapter! Normally I love Russian lit and my fiance reports that this book is one of my favorites but whew I've been feeling confused about who is talking and what is going on 11mo
mcctrish I was getting strong Young and the Restless vibes! Fyodor is a drunk, talks nonsense about stuff he knows nothing about & sees the town prostitute, Ivan is engaged to the most eligible debutante but wants the town prostitute so says Rakitin/Mischa who was in the prostitutes bedroom and overheard Dimitry talking in the other room 🤯 but Greshenka wants Aloysha #soapopera #andsogothedaysofourlives absolute bonkers #whatdidfyodordo 11mo
Aimeesue @mcctrish Young & The Restless vibes!!! 😂 Maybe if I picture them as Y&R characters that will help. Nikki + Victor! 😂😂😂 11mo
mcctrish @Aimeesue exactly! Don‘t forget Jill! Who will be Catherine? 11mo
Aimeesue @CatLass007 The one in the wheelchair was Lize, the 14yo note passer (from Katerina) who still has a crush on Alyosha 11mo
Aimeesue @mcctrish Like sands through the hourglass, only time will tell! Whoops, wrong soap! 11mo
mcctrish @Aimeesue that‘s the one I watched, my mom LOVED Y & R 11mo
CatLass007 I give up. 11mo
SamAnne So fun the catch up on the comments. I will say, this is MUCH better than Fyodor‘s Demons. I DNFd that sucker. 11mo

Bailedbailed

I‘m trying to fight through this awful cold with reading. But this book is totally not doing it for me. I left it, came back to it, I gave it 150 pages. But it‘s just not keeping my attention. It seems well written but very detailed, unnecessarily so. Also- does anyone else struggle with #BookGuilt when you rate a book badly? I feel badly when I say all these negative things. . . but I also feel the need to be honest. 🤷🏻‍♀️

cobwebmoth Hope you feel better soon! And yes, I suffer from book guilt, too. 7y
ElishaLovesBooks @cobwebmoth Thanks! The weather has finally turned nice and I‘m stuck inside! I‘m glad to know I‘m not the only one with #bookguilt #IFeelBetter 7y
Ingerella I have the worst book guilt! I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one! 7y
Samplergal That‘s why there are millions of books. Not everyone likes or should like every book. #NoGuilt (edited) 7y
ElishaLovesBooks @Ingerella I feel the same! @Samplergal I know you are right!! 7y
