This year was definitely one for the books! 📚 My goal for the year was only 60 books but I was able to majorly surpass that! Mostly because I finally got away from #bookguilt
This year, I allowed myself to read as many cheesy romantic novels as I wanted whenever I needed a mood boost. I also bailed on a bunch of books that just didn't hold my interest instead of trying to push through.
I just read what I wanted to read whenever I wanted ☺️

My bedside always devolves into the stack of unread shame. I need to purge to the shelves of unread potential. Somehow I'm sure Matterhorn will remain for another year or so. #readinginbed #weeknightfun #bookguilt #bookstacks

• Ah...the reappearance of a book you thought you were finished with! I DNF‘d this one a month ago. I already gave up on her “Difficult Women” so I‘d like to get through at least one. It‘s more of that stupid book guilt. And also it was waiting for me at the public library after I had already returned a copy to the university library. I‘m almost halfway. We‘ll see what happens 😐 •

I‘m trying to fight through this awful cold with reading. But this book is totally not doing it for me. I left it, came back to it, I gave it 150 pages. But it‘s just not keeping my attention. It seems well written but very detailed, unnecessarily so. Also- does anyone else struggle with #BookGuilt when you rate a book badly? I feel badly when I say all these negative things. . . but I also feel the need to be honest. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm calling it. 140 pages in and I'm still not sure what is driving this novel. The writing is lush and the people, interesting, but my to read stack is calling to me and I'm not going to finish this one. #bookguilt

TFW you have crushing book nerd guilt about reading straight white guys and the diversity of your reading diet...then you get a (as of right now secret) project that involves...reading the whitest of the white guys! 😂 Hopefully the Baldwin and the fact I'm starting Homegoing today will help with the aforementioned guilt. #libraryhaul #bookguilt
