The Moon in the Cloud | Rosemary Harris

Someone mentioned their favorite book with “moon“ in the title, which made me think of mine. I feel so lucky my childhood library had this somewhat obscure series! (My own copy has no bookcover, so I found this one online.)

LeahBergen I only heard about this book a little while ago! I must hunt down a copy if it‘s a favourite of yours. 1mo
willaful @LeahBergen I had to special order my copies from England! But that was a very long time ago and it might be more available now. P.S. I'm very flattered. 😊 (edited) 1mo

So I am horribly late for mays #bookedintime - sorry! This was a compelling story of Rahab a prostitute who survived the fall@of Jericho and went on to marry Salome. Christian fiction is not something I have ever really read but I did enjoy the strong message of faith, forgiveness and more.

Cuilin ✅🎉 sounds like you enjoyed it!!! 5mo

This deserved all of the accolades and honors and awards it won. Beautiful book. Great story, fabulous writing, characters with some depth.
A retelling/twist on the Old Testament story of Jacob. It is not his story but that of his only daughter,Dinah. Told from her point of view and it is her life. I love the way Diamant takes this briefly mentioned in the Bible character and creates this entire life for her.
4.5⭐️ badass females all around.

dabbe I loved this one as well. 💚💙💚 6mo

I enjoyed the author's take on the passage from the Bible about the woman with the issue of blood. (See above) It's a heart-wrenching story of faith and redemption. Characters and plot are well developed. I would definitely recommend it.

I served as a coordinator for Mesu Andrews. I had the opportunity to host her in my home for a conference, drive her to Indiana, & meet her Mama. When this photo was taken she was speaking at a Ladies Retreat. She invited me as her guest at a time I couldn‘t afford an experience like that. She is a real woman with needs, health struggles & a heart for obeying God to love others. This is my favorite book of hers though not usually chosen by others.

Book number 2 in The Silent Years series, and I loved it!

The 400 years between the Old and New Testaments in the Bible are often referred to as "the silent years." These historical fiction books show that God was not silent at that time in history.

This story is about a young woman who grew up in an abusive household and marries a man who seems safe and loving. But can a warrior provide the security she craves?

I need the next 2 books!

When one steps back and understands the Jewishness of Yeshua (Jesus) and his culture, the words He spoke take on a different level of meaning. We cannot separate Him from the Torah and Jewish 2nd temple Judaism. This book shows Him in that light and brings new insight on His teachings. New in the fact that it places them in proper historical and cultural context. An excellent and challenging read.

ManyWordsLater Tell me more 9mo
BookDadGirlDad @ManyWordsLater There has been a great separation of Jesus from the Hebraic roots of the faith. Modern Christianity disregards the cultural and religious context of 2nd Temple Judaism. This, what we have is a Hellenized faith that disregards the foundation Jesus taught 9mo
