I'm about to post a gushing review of my first Oyeyemi and after I finished it I immediately added more of hers to my TBR.
You could say I was *bewitched* by her magical style, *bothered* that I don't have more of her books on my shelf, and *bewildered* that I haven't read her before now.

Aimeesue She‘s one of my faves. Boy, Snow, Bird is my favorite of hers, I think. Or Mister Fox. Or Gingerbread. Scratch that, they‘re all good. 6y

Billypar @Aimeesue I read Mister Fox: I didn't want it to end. I could have gone back to the beginning and started over- not something I usually feel, even with books I like. 6y

Cinfhen I wish I could appreciate her uniqueness more but her books just don‘t work well for me. I do have and will try soon

Billypar @Cinfhen I don't know how her others compare to Mr. Fox, but I could see how if you weren't on board with the overall style, it would be a little frustrating. 6y

Aimeesue @Cinfhen @Billypar I love her style, but I can see why some don't. Warning, though: Gingerbread is probably the most Oyeyemi of all there's a loose plot, but you'll probably be lost a lot of the time - not a whole lot of sensible coherence. 6y

Ddzmini I have the series to read and want to buy the movies on amazon there 59?? For all 8 😳 so I‘m waiting until payday but I still want to wait until I read all the books before watching the movies 😝🙌🏽😋📖 6y

*A little too on-the-nose? I know, but I can‘t help it. “Bewitched” was my absolute favorite show when I was very young. I even remember thinking that Ella Fitzgerald sang this song because of the tv show. Ah, such is youth....
But the tagged book is the first of the “Bewitched by Chocolate” series, and I will be reviewing the book for the cozy prompt from Booked2019.

The photo is of Dick York, who only played one season; thereafter, the role of Darren Stephens was played by Dick Sargent. I‘m sure that‘s much more than you wanted to know about “Bewitched.” 😂 6y
