Pies and books and books and pie. Just finished the ebook+audiobook of White Noise for a Beer & Books discussion opportunity and now starting the hot book by Moore, an author I have admired for years.

I made this Tomato Basil Pie as a side for a dinner party and also the Lemon 🍋Meringue for dessert and neighbor-thanking last weekend.

This recipe I dug up on the internet needs some radical modification before it starts to taste anything like the bakery treat I want to replicate, but they look pretty, and I haven‘t done any #audiobaking in ages so this was a really fun way to listen to the first chapter of our next #sundaybuddyread

Catching upon Sherlock while making the Insta-famous lemony ricotta and summer squash tart thing. It was delicious, but too much work for a summer meal imo. I may hack the recipe to make it simpler (tiny ones with crescent rolls for crust?) and nix the lemon in favor of basil. Lemon ricotta tastes like dessert to me.

I made David Lebovitz‘s bacon & bleu cheese cake for obvious reasons, and I listened to the first book in this omnibus so I could try out the audio function on my Kobo. It‘s a decent urban fantasy with a good prose style, but I don‘t feel like Easterling has given me quite enough of the OOMPH I need to really invest in the characters‘ relationships. I might drift away from the second book. #audiobaking
