A Wish in the Dark | Christina Soontornvat

This story would be great to use for a class of 4th or 5th graders. The storytelling in the book would be wonderful for those grade levels. This book follows a great journey with many twists and intense scenes that it would keep students interested, while also giving them an inside look on Thai culture.

I chose this cookbook with the beautiful cover for recipe inspiration for #foodandlit this month. The recipes are straightforward and not too complicated with beautiful pictures of yummy food throughout. She also thoroughly explains all of the special ingredients you might need and is very nice and down to earth. Looking forward to trying a recipe or two soon. 4⭐️

Sword and sorcery fantasy which turns prophecy on its head. Interesting but I probably won't continue the series. I'm just not in the mood for sword and sorcery at the moment.

Posting this here but I‘m selling this Goldsboro special edition of The Night Ends with Fire by K.X Song, it‘s never been read, I don‘t like or care for Romantasy, it‘s a Mulan retelling. My daughter shattered her phone and she needs it replaced but I don‘t have the extra money to do that and she needs a phone because of her Cheer activities
I‘m look for $50, this covers what I paid PLUS shipping US only.

I learnt on my daily perusal of Wikipedia's On this day page that today is #Malaysia's Independence Day. Happy Hari Merdeka to all that celebrate it!
I started the tagged book this morning: it's quite good and informative so far.

Photo of the day's “parade during the 2013 Sabah state-level Independence Day Celebrations“ by CEphoto, Uwe Aranas, Wikimedia. Not a fan of military-type parades, but hey...

People have strong opinions about this one! While the author didn‘t distinguish her story inspired by Mulan from the Disney version as much as she likely wanted to, she did add a new twist to the dragons, a question about the price of ambition, and a love triangle. Occasionally dense but almost always entertaining, I enjoyed this book even if I can‘t say it was a great one. Reads more YA than adult but generally a quick, fun read. Soft pick.
