so-so

This is a post-apocalyptic story about an extremist and his family. I don‘t like working with people who have personality disorders, but I enjoy reading about them and Isaac def has undiagnosed schizophrenia. The storyline moves pretty slow and is pretty anticlimactic with zero action. The premise is a good idea, but I wanted so much more from these characters. Very underwhelming. Book #62 in 2023

23 #62 The story of Estée Lauder told from the perspective of a fictional friend. I really enjoyed this book. Both storylines held my attention. The lead characters, though flawed, were still likable.

Saga is complex, violent, and graphic in multiple senses of the word. The issues do not stand alone, but you won‘t regret going back to the beginning. As for issue 61 - nothing good can come of that ending… I can‘t wait.

#NCBD!!! Today is all about Saga #62 especially after the last issue‘s cliffhanger ending. I have no idea where the story is going but I will follow Vaughan/Staples anywhere. Great story, gorgeous art—I expect this is another issue that will make me feel ALL the feels.

A coming of age story from 15yr old Ari‘s POV. Ari is a Mexican American boy growing up in CA in the 80s. He befriends another teen boy who is the opposite of him. They have conversations that are not normal for boys that age but it made sense for their personalities. I hate the added “romantic” part, why can‘t these young men just be childhood best friends? This was about loyalty and learning what that means at an important age. Book #62 in 2022
