Soooo good. I‘m going to watch the movie. One of my students told me this was his favorite book. I had to check it out. I love books about true events.

I remember seeing all of the news coverage after the September 11, 2012 attacks in Benghazi. But after reading this book, I am appalled by how much was left out because it didn't fit the narrative the news anchors were trying to push. If you have strong opinions on either political party's handling of the events in Benghazi, then I highly recommend reading this book before you make your next Facebook post about it.
This was an intense account of what happened in Benghazi on 9/11/12. The book is read by the author. It‘s not about the politics of the event but about what actually happened during the attack and the Americans who were involved. I‘m planning to watch the movie this weekend 😬
Learning a lot about Libyan-US relations in the beginning of this week's audiobook. First day back at work, driving slowly because there are still large patches of ice in "balmy" SC. We can handle 100 degrees. We don't do freezing well, though.?️☀️
Listened to this on audio and man I had some anxiety at times! Well narrated by the author. Terrifying for those men....
I read this book early last year, sure that Benghazi was going to be a HUGE talking point/debate in the election year and I wanted the insider story first. I learned a lot & I‘m still not sure how they laid this CIA mess on the Secretary of State, but in the end it didn‘t matter....people died that didn‘t need to, most of it was plain human error, and none of it was a focus of the campaigns in the end.
My #NovemberByTheNumbers pick for Nov 13th

13 hours into the #readathon (missed the first 2 1/2 hours) and up to 8 hours. Now reading Splinter the Silemce. @DeweysReadathon
Today was a 13 hour work day. As much as I'd like to read to wind down tonight, I don't think my eyes or ears will allow it. Tomorrow will be better. #lieswetellourselves
Was going to start this book today, but then I realized that the authors last name started with a Z. Anyone else postponing hard to find letters until next year for #Litsyatoz ?
It took two hours and the line just kept getting longer behind us, but was able to meet this hero. RTLW means: RANGER LEAD THE WAY. Thank you for your service, Kris "Tanto" Paronto.
I've been dying to see this movie (hello bulky John Krasinski! And for other reasons). My hubs is no longer a fan of war movies so I had to wait till it was on blue ray and to my surprise at Target you can get the movie AND the book! Yays! What a treat!
Interesting! Perhaps not the best book to listen to. It was very factual and made me sleepy every time I listened to it. Still an enjoyable read, and I can't wait to watch the movie. I think this may be one instance where the movie is better than the book.
I devoured this absolutely gripping narrative. What brave, brave men. What a horrible thing to endure. It makes me angry!! RIP to those who were lost.
Forget all the political carrying on about Benhazi. This is straight up journalistic narrative from the POV of the spec ops contractors. The book is a reminder that we live in a complicated world where good and evil do not have clearly defined lines. Highly recommended!
