See never fails every time I go to the Dollar Tree.
#reccomendsday I loved this book. I've read it twice and discussed it in all 5 of my book groups. Told from the point of view of s young girl growing up in 1960s Chicago with her mother, a singer always yearning for the spotlight. It looks at alternative lifestyles and addresses the question "what makes a family?"
Can't say enough about how good this book is.
This book opened up our book club to discussing issues of gender and sexuality, race issues, Chicago of the 1960s, women‘s rights, community and so much more. I would highly recommend this for any book club, you won‘t be disappointed.
