A Christmas mission…
Mirren’s beloved great-aunt Violet is seriously ill. Her one Christmas wish is to be reunited with a long-lost hand-illustrated book from her childhood, a challenge Mirren gladly accepts to give Violet some much-needed festive cheer.
An enchanting journey…
With no sign of the cherished volume online, Mirren falls into the fascinating world of rare books. From London to snowy Hay-on-Wye and Edinburgh’s cobbled streets, she chases leads from bookshop to bookshop—and bumps into mysterious, charming Theo, who, unbeknownst to her, is searching for the same book for reasons of his own…
The start of a new chapter?
As the two join forces to track the book down before time runs out for Violet, will Mirren find her Christmas miracle—and maybe even a kiss under the mistletoe… ?
For fans of Josie Silver, Jill Mansell and the Queen of Christmas herself, a snow-swept love story to warm even the coldest winter’s day.

Good. Even though the title suggests a Christmas story the Christmas elements are few and far between. Nice story about books and takes you on a literary journey around the United Kingdom. If you have read her book The Christmas Bookshop and Midnight at the Christmas Bookshop you encounter some characters from that story and you see what happened to them after the midnight one.

Mirren is looking for a book her dying great-aunt says she had as a child. Theo has been tasked with getting the book before or from her by his uncle. Their search introduces them to some old Colgan characters in Edinburgh. It‘s a sweet story with several layers.

Silent nights have not been happening for me recently so I'm up early again this morning, looking for a little quiet time and starting on this novella. 😊

4 ⭐ In this book, we have a woman who finds out that her aunt is dying and her aunt wants one thing , a book from her childhood. A particular book of verse by Robert Lewis Stevenson illustrated by a particular artist. Our main character decides she‘s going to try her best to find a copy of this book. Along the way she makes friends with a handsome young bookseller and the two of them are going to see if they can‘t

LibrarianRyan find this unique, rare, and eventually very expensive phantom copy of a book. This book was very sweet and heartfelt. It was a perfect read for Christmas. It does have romance in it, but the romance isn‘t the main part of the story. The main part of the story really is the hunt in these old British book shops for a book so rare most people don‘t believe it to exist. 7d
