pickI love everything about this woman! I love how she brings ballet to the masses. I love how she‘s strong and true to herself. This is a very good read as she now brings herself to the masses in a very open and honest way. She is one of my favorite ballet dancers #balletread
pickReally engaging biography! She had a comparatively late start to dance, but was a prodigy child at it amidst an unstable home life. Very determined to be an expressive, inspirational, game changing ballerina in a world that is exclusive.

so-soMy utmost admiration for Misty, and I just had fun scrolling her Instagram (where I found this pic). The footage of her performance at a Taylor Swift concert was my favorite. And did you know that she performed with Prince?!? Lots of interview footage too. I think this book would have been a pick if not for the reader. Her voice sounded too old for Misty, and she over enunciated the words to the point of distraction. 2/5🩰s

pickThis had been on my TBR for awhile, and I'm glad I got to it! Misty's story is an inspiring one, and despite the fact that I am the opposite of a ballerina, I find the world of dance fascinating. I am in awe of Copeland's drive and dedication (actually, all of the Copeland siblings are pretty impressive). I do wish the audiobook had been read by the author, but for some reason it wasn't. #NFNov @Clwojick

pickI had seen a documentary about Copeland a few years ago and her story intrigued me. This autobiography goes into much more detail about her childhood (there were so many things that could have given her an excuse to give up) and the struggles she faced as one of the only black ballerinas. It‘s inspiring and awe inducing. It shows what hard work and dedication can do.

pickI've had this book on my to-read list since it came out, and finally picked it up. I've seen several interviews with Misty Copeland so I was aware of some of her life story, but it was great to read it from her perspective. I learned things about her life and career that I didn't know, and learned more about things I did know, like her performance as the Firebird, and on tour with Prince. I have even more admiration for her now. #nonfiction2018

Update: I read this in 2 days. The prologue had me thinking it was going to be a snoozer. It turned out to be a great read. I'm glad I read it
