This may be my favorite installment. I also appreciated her subtle plug of Uncle Nearest.

#12Booksof2024 Day 6: June. Easy this one. I love Karin Slaughter, love her Will Trent series and loved this book.
@Andrew65
I almost gave up on this book in the first 30%
But I'm happy I stuck to it.
I'm a big slaughter fan, in fact I re-read the entire Grant County and Will Trent series before I picked up this one. So there wasn't a year gap of me trying to patiently wait for the next book. And I think that makes a difference.
I was in this Slaughter flow and this book just wasn't what I expected to be next in the flow

Listening to tagged book and enjoying some Christmas ambiance before work this morning. Anyone know if there‘s a #holidaycardswap this year? I signed up for a lovely winter themed one, but I really enjoyed the Christmas one I did last year. Litsy is my cozy holiday home.
As usual, I devoured this book. It‘s a heartbreaking read. Slaughter is a gifted thriller writer and this latest installment in the Will Trent series is just as compulsively readable, horrifying, and gut-wrenching as the others. Faith‘s description of the case is perfect, but potentially spoiler-y, so I‘ll put it in the comments under a spoiler tag.
This is the 12th book in the Will Trent series, which is a sequel to the 6 books in the Grant County series. I have read most of them and they are all really very good. They are dark, often graphic, but filled with great characters. This one involves a majorly dysfunctional family that run a resort where Will and Sara are staying. Naturally there is a murder. Thank you to Edelweiss+ for the digital ARC. I could not put it down. 4.5/5 stars!

Another great book in the Will Trent series. Will and Sara are on their honeymoon at a vacation lodge in North Georgia. On the first night, they hear a blood curdling scream for help. They discover the manager of the lodge who‘s been stabbed multiple times. She gives Will a message for her son before she passes. This is another book where I figured out who the killer was very early in the book. #SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView @Andrew65
For GBI investigator Will Trent and medical examiner Sara Linton, McAlpine Lodge seems like the ideal getaway to celebrate their honeymoon. Set on a gorgeous, off-the-grid mountaintop property, it‘s the perfect place to unplug and reconnect. Until a bone-chilling scream cuts through the night.
A murderer in their midst
THIS IS WHY WE LIED by Karin Slaughter…..I raced through this extremely amazing read. Loved it, absolutely unputdownable. Will Trent is a great series that will keep readers invested from the very first book.
5 Starts • Will Trent and Sara Linton are on their honeymoon at McAlpine Lodge when a storm isolates them, turning their vacation into a murder investigation. After Mercy McAlpine, the lodge manager, is murdered, everyone present becomes a suspect. Will and Sara uncover a web of lies and secrets among the guests and staff. The investigation reveals deep-seated issues within the McAlpine family.

So Will & Sara‘s vacation was about as relaxing as you would expect. A tormentor from Will‘s past resurfaces in this locked room mystery of sorts at a remote lodge.
This was amazing, sick & twisted. I‘ve thought her writing has skewed a bit “younger” since Pieces of Her, but this as broody & dark as the prior Will Trents. Loved it.
Wow what a ride this was. You just don't know who did what until the end. I think I figured it out just before Will did and what a genius twist that was. This is the newest installment in the series and definitely one of the best ones. I was hooked from the start. Plus I'm a sucker for the relationship between Will and Sara. I love how healthy and sweet it is in this one. They have some great moments and brilliant lines together. 5* #Netgalley
More Will, Sara, Faith and Amanda!
A twisty, dark thriller with some horrible themes, murders and people. Expect the usual and then even darker.
Loved it.
