Better late than never on posting my final October #Bookspin board. Tagged book I didn‘t quite finish in October, but I am almost done with it. I had a really strong reading month in October, and I did come really close to getting a couple bingos.

This was good on audio because each character has their own narrator. Though with all the names in the world why did 3 people they talked about have very similar names. The king, the brother and the guy Rio is trying to save from prison.

This was an okay fantasy. Low pick. I‘ll probably continue the series, but it‘s not really a high priority.

October #BookspinBingo card put together. Five Broken Blades is my #Bookspin - after finishing the Mistborn trilogy it‘s probably overly optimistic that I will actually finish this one in October. My #doublespin Slewfoot has been on my TBR for a long time and I thought it would be a perfect October read.

Here‘s my September fav! My #2024readingbracket is filling up fast! Can‘t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!

Ooh boy did I love this one! We get multiple POVs and each character‘s storyline was better than the next. A band of misfits coming together to overthrow a King and change their lives. We learn each person‘s motivations and back stories. The ending did fall short for me (it felt like a cop out) as the author is obviously writing a sequel but it was still extremely well written and enjoyable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

91/150 Honestly, I'm surprised I enjoyed this as much as I did, with so many romance tropes boxes to check off. Enemy to Lover ✅ Friend to Lover ✅ Long Lost Loves Reunited ✅ That aside, what kept me listening was the intricate plot and the fascinating character development, and each character faced hidden secrets and base betrayals. I was totally surprised by the final reveal of who was playing who. Being the first book of a series ⬇️

I absolutely love this story. I can‘t wait to read the sequel.

Ok let's do this!! I figured with the cover reveal of book 2 now was the perfect time to finally pick this one up.

Picked this up last night sounds interesting 🧐 so it goes on my tbr

3.25 stars. The writing style of this book wasn‘t my favorite - it felt “young” even though this is an adult novel. Regardless, I was entertained by the adventure and could see it playing out on the screen. I thought the poison maiden mythology was particularly interesting. My mouth dropped with a reveal at the end!

The one on the left is the original edition and the one on the right is the Goldsboro edition! At first I thought the page edges were exactly the same and just the color was different, but looking at them side by side they are very different indeed! In terms of my favorite, I'm leaning more towards the blue one, since blue is one of my favorite colors! #goldsborobooks

Some books are literary masterpieces, some are summer blockbuster movies rendered in written word—this book is the latter type. Five people with no reason to trust each other (and every reason not to) come together to do the impossible—kill the king. The book is told from multiple POVs & moves along, in mostly expected & some unexpected, ways racing to the end of the first book in a series. Beautiful design, entertaining if predictable story.

Today's #bookmail have absolutely gorgeous edges.

And then the expected bookmail arrived a day early and I have to say, the design is gorgeous. If I remember correctly, Rebecca Roanhorse blurbed it (cool) and I‘m hoping for a great read.

I especially love the colors in the endpapers.
