The emoji in the center of the flower says it all. The choice between And the Birds Rained Down and My Broken Language was painful!
Ultimately, I went with the title I did because it does *a lot* in few words. My Broken Language could be a bit rambly (but I‘d happily drown in her tidal wave of language forever).

Here‘s my September fav! My #2024readingbracket is filling up fast! Can‘t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!
God of the Woods wins September!
I‘m feeling pretty certain that whichever book advances after October won‘t stand a chance against My Broken Language, though…

August was a stellar reading month. Both My Broken Language and The Bear were knockouts!

#2024readingbracket My Aug fav did not beat out Reckless. I see Lauren Roberts is easily becoming my fav author of the year. This month I‘m continuing the Samantha Shannon bone season books so we‘ll see if that becomes my Sept fav as well! Oh and I still have one bonus spot available. #readingbracket2024
Klages‘ collection of short stories was my favorite read this month. It‘s making me miss my Short Stories Book Club something fierce! The members, though (my high school friends), are all in the throes of raising young children and competing in fitness & body-building competitions (What? 😅 That one wasn‘t in the “Most Likely to” section of our yearbook!), so (sadly) I don‘t expect its revival.

#readingbracket2024 My top pick this month was the sequel to my favorite pick from the whole year so far Powerless! I also added another bonus pick which seem to be filling up fast! Let‘s see what Aug brings! #2024readingbracket
Halfway done, my version of top read 2024.
Never expected that it'd be so hard to decide the best book for each month, but I'm still excited to do more for the rest of the year! 🎉

Confession: I still have one chapter left to read but Monsters was far & away my favorite read in June.
Also…this was really hard! I reserve the right to change my mind and reconfigure the grid. For now, though, it stands! 🐢📔
