Snowing outside but it‘s summer in here. #escape
While I did not like this one as much as Ashford Affair, I still enjoyed it overall. Willig uses two time periods to tell a story of love. In 2009, Julia inherits the family home, one she has not seen in over 20 years. In 1849, Imogen feels trapped in a loveless marriage in this same house. But, a visit from some artists will change Imogen‘s life forever.
Thanks to @CouronneDhiver for co-hosting #ThatSummerRead with me!
I finished this afternoon. I won‘t spoil it, but am curious to see how you guys think this compares to The Ashford Affair. Thanks for hosting, @Librarybelle and @CouronneDhiver !! #thatsummerread
We‘re on our final week of #ThatSummerRead ! I‘ve enjoyed reading everyone‘s comments about this book so far. I‘m still on the third section but hope to have everything completed by next weekend.
Thanks again to @CouronneDhiver for being a wonderful co-host!
Reached the end of week two‘s reading. How is everyone doing?
I‘m liking this so far, though to me it‘s not as strong as The Ashford Affair. But, I think the story‘s mystery is about to unfold, so I‘m looking forward to the next section! #thatsummerread
When at the Met in her younger years Julia thought: “Sometimes she would imagine herself taking up residence in one of those rooms, like the runaway children in From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.”

I realize you must all be thinking: that porch again?! I am back to work Tuesday so will have less porch reading time. 😥 so relief is in sight!
Continuing to read this one this afternoon. My right hand is trapped under #Zeke , making things a little difficult. 🐱 #catsoflitsy #thatsummerread

“The woman‘s clothes made Julia think of the cover of her high school volume of Jane Eyre, tight-waisted dress in deep, dark blue, with a modest white collar and cuffs.
“ It was too ridiculously Nancy Drew.”
When you discover books alluded to that you have read in the book you are presently reading.😀📚

Here are the details for #ThatSummerRead ! This is a no pressure #buddyread . Hope you can join us!
@CouronneDhiver and I had so much fun reading Lauren Willig‘s book The Ashford Affair as a #buddyread that we wanted to read another one by her!
Anyone wish to join in on #ThatSummerRead ? We‘re starting this no pressure buddyread on Sunday, August 19. I‘ll post the schedule tomorrow.
I‘m tagging everyone who joined us last time, in case you‘re interested in another round! And, of course, all are welcome to join!
I‘m 2 book reviews behind, haven‘t finished my audiobook and have a ton of work to do. It only seems natural to take the next hour and start a new book. #priorities 😂
I just finished listening to this lovely book. Really enjoyed it. Has anyone read or listened to it?
Listening to this book. Ohhh...I am loving it. :) Have you read or listened to it?
#bookmail Book Outlet edition! And, in my haste to purchase books (?), I purchased a hardcover and paperback copy of the tagged title. At least there is a value on having both - the paperback had additional content.
Can you find any must reads from the stacks?
I really loved this book! The dual story lines kept the plot fast paced. The story was not predictable.
