A witch struggling to regain what she has lost casts a forbidden spellonly to discover much more than she expected, in this enchanting new rom-com by New York Times bestselling author Lana Harper. Six months after having been hit by a power surge that nearly obliterated her memory, Delilah Harlow is still picking up the pieces. Her once diamond-sharp mind has become shaky and unreliable, and bristly, self-sufficient Delilah is forced to rely on friends, family, and her raven familiar for help. In an effort to reclaim her wits and former independence, she casts a dangerous blood spell meant to harness power with healing capacities. While the spell does restore clarity, it also unexpectedly turns Delilah into an irresistible beacon for the kind of malevolent supernatural creatures that have never before ventured into Thistle Grove. One nightjust as things are about to go terribly sideways with a rogue succubusa mysterious stranger appears in the nick of time to save Delilahs soul. Gorgeous, sultry, and as dangerous as the knives she carries, Catriona Quinn is a hunter of monstersand half-human, half-fae herself, she is the kind of sly and morally gray creature Delilah would normally find horrifying. Though Delilah balks at the idea of a partnership, she has no choice but to roll the dice on their collaboration. As the two delve deeper into the power that underlies Thistle Grove, they uncover not only the towns hidden history but also a risky attraction that could upend Delilahs entire life.

Second go around of this book was much better. She was still so angry and it was tough to read, but it had a satisfying ending. Now I need to continue this series!

Reading out of order but another really enjoyable story in this series. There is a couple of layers here - yes a cool lgbtq romance but also a story about fear and fitting jn. An easy read

For day 13 of the #hauntedshelf book cover scavenger hunt we have one of my favourite purple reads of the last few years! I love the witches of thistle grove series so much, it was very bittersweet finishing the series this month.

This was a deviation from the rest of the series. It was more fantasy romance than small town witchy romance. I think the series was going in this direction but I missed the small town feeling.

I really enjoyed this instalment despite all that. I would have preferred the book to end without the couple reconciling as it felt too easy.

PuddleJumper #BodyDoubleReadathon Managed to tame the floordrobe and vaccum up. Going to have lunch now and I want to start Vampires of El Norte and I need to do some social media stuff which I hate doing

Emilymdxn I see what you mean - I just finished the last in the series and the scale definitely gets bigger over the last few books. I love both but I see how they leave behind a lot of what I liked most at the beginning about the early books 2mo
PuddleJumper @Emilymdxn It was an organic change which helped. I still think I prefer the earlier books because of that cosy vibe and I liked all the stupid puns 2mo

I'm still loving this series as much as I did in book one, which is rare for me. Delilah's story really drove home the lesson that holding a grudge hurts the person who is holding it more than anyone else.

Reviews elsewhere were not as receptive to the broody MC of this book (Delilah Harlow, dealing with disability & trauma from the events of the last book) Litsy & I are not bothered. While I hope it‘s not a full change in tone for the series, it was nice to break the mold of the MCs main dilemma being basic coming of age growing pains. Powers of this magnitude should be shown to have lasting repercussions or what‘s the point of all the caution?

i blew through this one the way i blow through all of the Thistle Grove books. Delilah is prickly as shit and there is plenty of side eye to go around, but it‘s also incredibly refreshing to have an angry, defensive heroine. also love the way Harper is expanding the lot of the town!

Enjoying a new read and a good hard cider at an Edgar Allen Poe themed coffee shop while the kiddo is at confirmation class? Heck yeah!

wanderinglynn How fun! Where is this Poe-themed cafe? 11mo
PathfinderNicole @wanderinglynn Port Huron, MI! It‘s probably one of my favorite places to eat or grab a drink where I live 11mo
wanderinglynn 🤔 Michigan is one of the last 6 states I have left to visit. I‘ll have to put Port Huron & the Poe cafe on my list! 11mo

#ScarathlonPhotoChallenge

The books in the Witches of Thistle Grove series (this is the 4th) always make me hungry as there are lots of decadent pastries & comfort food in them. I would love to have a cinnamon & honey bun for a #Treat right about now.😋

+6 #Scarathlon points + 15 (using a book read during the month in a photo challenge) for Team #SpookyGhostClub 👻🖤👻

Soubhiville I would like one as well! They look delicious. 😋 14mo

@Emilymdxn Thanks for reminding me the new book was out! These are fast reads that I always enjoy. This wasn‘t my favorite of the series because I wasn‘t rooting for the romance this time, but the storyline was fantastic and the writing style was spot on. #scarathlon #skeletoncrew #witchathon @TEArificbooks

Finished this on Friday but had to save it for today‘s #Purple prompt. The 4th & newest in the Thistle Grove series, this one was not my favorite (I‘m not exactly sure why) but it was still quite enjoyable as I love this magical small town of witches. Also I do like a good familiar & it had Montalban the raven so…🐦‍⬛🖤

Still adding readathon points but with 264 #ScarathlonWordSearch words it netted ⬇️

DebinHawaii me 2661 in #Scarathlon points for Team #SpookyGjostClub 👻🖤👻 Start with the first in the series 1y
