I have recently started reading a bit more again and when I saw on TikTok that this new Emily Henry book was a must read, I thought I should give it a go. I have read one of her books before and I honestly love the way she writes. I‘m already halfway through this book and again this story feels like a warm hug and soft giggles. It‘s very enjoyable and I can‘t wait to read how this story ends 🙏🥰

I‘m also reading The Book of Love and I love it so much I don‘t want to finish it so I haven‘t picked it up in a couple days 😂😂 That‘s a first for me I think. Anyone else do that?!
pick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The title and premise are clever and full circle without being too cheesy. It‘s gotta be hard to pull off romance tropes in a unique way, but Henry absolutely delivers: a fun story, likable characters, and trademark humor. Fake dating, forced proximity, whatever. Yes. Do it all. It works so well. This hit me at the perfect time (a departure from my true crime binge). Her best yet, IMO.
pickThis book‘s subtitle should be: everyone needs therapy. Also, I loved it! Realistic & healthy relationships, actual character development & honest conversations. Supporting the idea that you need friends and a community, not just one “perfect “ person. Miles & Daphne were a delight with buzzing chemistry. The supporting characters added so much especially Julia & Ashleigh, & the descriptions of Michigan were just the chef‘s kiss. My #1 or 2 Henry.
pickI‘m a fan of Emily Henry, and this could be my new favorite. I‘ve always been impressed by her ability to write actually witty sarcasm in her dialogue, and she‘s got it again here in spades. Loved it!!
pickI wasn‘t sure if I was going to like this one because I didn‘t really enjoy the last couple of Emily Henry books. But I really loved this one! I loved Miles and Daphne. I loved all the exploring of Michigan too! I don‘t know if all the places are real, but I wished they were!

pickI love all things Emily Henry, and this one was great. Told from Daphne‘s point of view while her life is shattered and then put back together unexpectedly. I like a good, independent woman who finds herself and love but they don‘t have to both define her book. Book #36 in 2024
pickDaisy conked out hours ago, but I had to stay up and finish this book. Emily Henry‘s books mean summer to me. I loved the characters in this book, and the Lake Michigan setting. All worth tomorrow‘s exhaustion.
pickLOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Emily Henry is so good - sparkling dialogue, charming yet messy characters, well written steamy scenes. And Julia Whelan is such an audiobook lover‘s dream. They are the perfect pair (chef‘s kiss)!

And she did what she does so well again with this swoooooontastic romance read that paid a special little homage to librarians. I absolutely fell in love with these two loveably flawed characters. Miles is a Hotty-McHotty!!!
I loved the message reminding us that even in the darkest of times there‘s always room for hope.
pickI liked this, it was solid. I really liked the Michigan location, being a lover of Northern MI. It started very strong, I liked the jilted ones becoming roommates and friends then falling in love. However, deeper parts of the story didn‘t quite go as far they could have. Also note that this is slightly steamer than the author‘s previous works. Also, unlike the last book, this is definitely a romance. Overall, one her more fun reads. 4⭐️
pickI really enjoyed this although I may be a little bit biased because I too am a librarian. To be honest I kind of think Ashleigh is career goals because sometimes I wish I could frighten patrons into behaving! I think the thing I love most about Emily Henry's couples is that they don't just find each other they find themselves.

Previously, I‘d only used the Merlin app on-demand, to ID a specific bird call. This week, I started opening it just to capture the chorus of birdsong around me. The variety thrilled my heart every time! And I love that it highlights each bird as it sounds, which helps you learn as you smile.
pickI really enjoy Emily Henry‘s books…but when I learned that the protagonist of her newest romance was a Children‘s Librarian, I have to admit I was a little worried. Given that it‘s my day job, I knew I was going to be on high alert for inaccuracies. Fortunately, she did her research! Aside from a couple of tiny nitpicks, she really got it right. Add to that a bearded love interest (ahem, like my husband)? This is my favorite E.H. since Beach Read!
Porch reading this afternoon. It‘s almost a funny story but I have no recollection of putting myself on the holds list at work but it was waiting for me there yesterday.

For dinner last night we went to my favorite restaurant so that I could get chicken hibachi! It was super delicious, as always! 🤭 I brought this book and read a little bit during dinner - I'm trying really hard to read this slowly to make it last, but it's so good I can't help but fly through it!
pickI got the chance to listen to this one so I went with that even though this wasn‘t on my TBR for the month. It‘s not actually funny, but I enjoyed the story a lot. It‘s got a romance but more than that, the two MCs work on themselves and the ways they‘d been affected by their childhoods as well as their grown-up choices. I also loved the MC‘s job at the library. That‘s always fun to read about.

I loved that the two main characters worked in a library and a winery, respectively, so we got to spend time both those settings - two of my favorite places 😊. I've been a fan of the dialogue/banter in all her books, and I didn't find this one quite as snappy, but still, a strong pick for me!
pickAnother winner from Emily Henry. Her dialogue/banter makes all her books deliciously easy to devour in one sitting. The way she describes the everyday mundane activity is her superpower. I am convinced her similies are what make her writing so relatable across such a vast audience. You know exactly what each feeling she describes feels like.
pickNot gonna lie, I want to plan a Read-A-Thon. Love when readers become authors who write about books & librarians and simply nail all-the-parts. Oh, and there's a romance story inside this title, too. 🤣
pickRoad trippin in NW Arkansas with this one! I enjoyed the setup for this story and wished good things for both Daphne and Miles. …PSA: There is no statute of limitations on the crimes an adult child bestows on their parents‘ parenting. (Every time I read a book such as this I chuckle at this running PSA joke 😜 I use to have with my now late father any time he‘d be in light ‘trouble‘ with another of my 5 siblings).
so-soWell, look who went after another cheap thrill of a quick romance read! 🤡 the latest from Emily Henry. I liked two of her books and couldn‘t stand Happy Place after a few pages.
This one, though it had cute moments, heartwarming bits about the importance of libraries and communities, felt half-baked.

Julia Whelan, as always, is a perfect audiobook reader, too.

I didn‘t vote for this one for #CampLitsy because I don‘t want to wait until June! For me summer starts when I get the new Emily Henry.
pickThis was a like more than a love for me, probably at least partially because of my slumpy state (I hadn‘t finished a book in almost a month!! 😱 Just work interfering, but still.) Three things I did love about this were (many of) the characters, all things library/librarian, and the Midwest setting.
pickJilted opposites attract in this gentle, emotionally resonant romance from Emily Henry. As well as I thought of this book while reading it, I didn‘t find myself giggling and kicking my feet, which is my sign of a favorite rom-com. I think Emily Henry just doesn‘t make me laugh, but I do find her characters‘ struggles moving and realistic and I can totally see why she‘s so many readers‘ favorite romance writer today.
pickI'm so bad when it comes to keeping up with any social media. Let's see what's happened so far this year... I got a promotion, had to relocate, and was in the longest bookslump of my life (I hadn't finished this year). But then I downloaded the #digitalarc of Funny Story and finished it in two days. I loved this book so much. It's definitely a contender for my top 10 Rom-Coms.
pickAbsolutely loved this one. Emily Henry just really hits my funny bone. I love the banter in this book. It has a little bit of fake dating, but it's really about two people helping each other while they fall in love. Out 4/23.
I'm 20% into an ARC of Emily Henry's next book. I love it so far.

pickGood. Full of romance and friendship. Shows how relationships happen when you least expect it in the unlikely of circumstances. Also a must for any book lovers as the authors love for books just shines through. Another wonderful addition to the bibliography of Emily Henry.
