Today's odd reading trio: noir thriller graphic novel, nonfiction about the evangelical church, and Richard Scarry kids book. Such an odd combo!
pickMy daughter likes to visit the charity shop of a local hospice as they always have lots of great books & they're only 50p! I steered her to this one as I loved Richard Scarry as a kid. It's great to read together but she also spent a long time looking at the humorous illustrations by herself. It's a little dated in places and I objected to the 'Wood and how we use it' section on ecological grounds. But still a classic.
The #anthropomorphiccharacters I chose are from Richard Scarry's What Do People Do All Day? book. I can still clearly remember loving these books as a child when I was learning to read and I enjoyed reading them again with my kids when they were little. #feistyfeb
#NovemberClassics - There is something to cherish about classic children books and how detailed they can be about our society! Plus, is it just me or is that flying cat a hilarious "#FindingWaldo" moment? ?
