Unfortunately Yours
Unfortunately Yours: A Novel | Tessa Bailey
15 posts | 19 read | 5 to read
#1 New York Times bestselling author Tessa Bailey returns with the hilarious follow-up to Secretly Yours, in which a down-on-her-luck Napa heiress suggests a mutually beneficial marriage of convenience to a man she cant stand... only to discover theres a fine line between love and hate. After losing her job and her fianc in one fell swoop, Natalie Vos returned home to lick her wounds. A few months later, shes sufficiently drowned her sorrows in cabernet and shes ready to get back on her feet. She just needs her trust fund to finance her new business venture. Unfortunately, the terms require she marry before she can have the money. And well, dumped, remember? But Natalie is desperate enough to propose to a man who makes her want to kill himand kiss him, in equal measure. August Cates may own a vineyard, but he doesnt know jack about making wine. Hes determined to do his late best friend proud, no matter what it takes. Except his tasting room is empty, his wine is disgusting (seriously, he once saw someone gag), and his buddys legacy is circling the drain. No bank will give him the loan he needs to turn the business around... and then the gorgeous, feisty heiress knocks on his door. Natalie has haunted his dreams since the moment they met, but their sizzling chemistry immediately morphed into simmering insults. Now, a quickie marriage could help them both. A sham wedding, a few weeks living under the same roof, and then they can go their separate waysassuming they make it out alive. How hard could it be? Theres just one thing they didnt account for: their unfortunate, unbearable, undeniable attraction.

These two were carryovers from September. I think Tessa Bailey is getting spicier. Maybe it‘s just me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I‘m afraid I wanted to like this one more than I did. I usually like tessa bailey but the characters being so wildly irrationally jealous was a big turn off for me. In a contemporary real world romance I just can‘t be doing with seething jealousy from people in their mid thirties about someone you dated 10 years ago like, it just doesn‘t do it for me.

Sweet and funny around that and I loved the winemaking setting.

wanderinglynn I‘m 50-50 on Bailey‘s books. Some I like and some I don‘t for similar reasons. 1y

Having been introduced to Natalie and August in Secretly Yours, I knew I wanted to see where their story went (if they didn‘t kill each other first). While Unfortunately Yours wasn‘t what I expected, I did enjoy the witty banter, the overall story, and the surprise depth of August‘s background.

Will be my last Tessa Bailey. Getting too risqué for my liking, and it's unfortunate as she has quite the knack for writing bantering characters.

Cute, spicy romantic comedies centered around a brother and sister duo who are heirs to a Napa Valley vineyard.

Both have opposites attract themes, but the witty banter and quirky personalities of the main characters really make these books shine.

If you‘ve enjoyed other Tessa Bailey novels, you‘ll like these!

If you're looking for a fun, spicy romance then Tessa Bailey should be on your must-read this. This title comes out next month in June. It's funny and sweet and the characters are so endearing. And the spice level is classic Tessa Bailey. #LittensLoveRomance

Loved the newest funny, sweet, and spicy novel from Tessa Bailey. The winery setting is gorgeous, and the tough Navy SEAL that falls in an instant is a delight. August quickly became a favorite hero! Releasing June 6, this one is a gem! With all the wine talk, best enjoyed with a crisp, light, refreshing Blanc de Blanc. #ARCApril #BookspinBingo @Andrew65 @TheAromaofBooks

This story is much like the male protagonist, crude but with an underlying sweetness. This is a light pick because of the character growth. The female protagonist should have been placed up for sainthood for dealing with this guy. Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for a DRC.
