The High Republic: Midnight Horizon
The High Republic: Midnight Horizon | Daniel Jos Older
6 posts | 4 read | 1 to read
Centuries before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, in the era of the glorious High Republic, the Jedi are the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy! After a series of staggering losses, the Republic seems to finally have the villainous Nihil marauders on the run, and it looks like there's light at the end of the tunnel. Until word comes of a suspected Nihil attack on the industrial cosmopolitan world of Corellia, right in the Galactic Core. Sent to investigate are Jedi Masters Cohmac Vitus and Kantam Sy, along with Padawans Reath Silas and Ram Jomaram, all fighting their own private battles after months of unrelenting danger. On Corellia, Reath and Ram encounter a brazen young security specialist named Crash, whose friend was one of the victims of the Nihil attack, and they team up with her to infiltrate Corellia's elite while the Masters pursue more diplomatic avenues. But going undercover with Crash is more dangerous than anyone expected, even as Ram pulls in his friend Zeen to help with an elaborate ruse involving a galactic pop star. But what they uncover on Corellia turns out to be just one part of a greater plan, one that could lead the Jedi to their most stunning defeat yet.... The New York Times best-selling series continues.... For light and life!

Mix feelings with this book. I liked the premise but sometimes is was confused on what had priority: the characters with their situations, the battle? Too many characters. Sometimes was like a middle grade book others like more a YA🤷🏽‍♀️I read it using the physical book and audio which was fantastic. I felt like I was watching the movie. 3/3.5 stars

When I saw that we were reading another novel by DJ Older I got excited. And he didn't disappoint. Of course not. This is just how a Star Wars novel should be. For me, everything just fits. The characters are deep and I was with them all the way. The plot moved forward, but never lost track of the characters and their feelings. This books adds so much depth to this Universe, if we wouldn't continue with Justina Ireland, I'd have a book hangover.

This is the 3rd ya book in the High Republic series. It takes place on Corellia where the Nihil are rumored to be causing trouble. The Jedi are sent to investigate & the ending becomes quite entertaining when a certain Jedi shows up 💚

September's book The Fallen Star was quite dramatic & at times felt claustrophobic but one of the best so far. What did everyone else think?
October's book Midnight Horizon is the next ya book in the series. This time we follow Jedi's Vitus & Sy along with their padowans Silas & Jomaram to Corellia.
As always if anyone wants to be added or removed just let me know. And May the Force Be With You!
