While I dislike insta-love, there wasn‘t a fated mates plot at least. Also, I wish there was more on the Mistlefoe game! And the book just…ended. I want more! At least this explains where Alexis came from.

My recent introduction to Kimberly Lemming‘s work has sent me down a rabbit hole of monster romance and I honestly couldn‘t be more delighted. After more than a year of a reading slump (just couldn‘t go there mentally or emotionally) I am relishing this reading frenzy again for as long as it lasts.

That was a fun read. Very cute.

Essentially a spicy Beauty & the Beast retelling - where Ruby‘s dad, a blacksmith steals ore from a fox demon‘s territory… and is then cursed to only be able to forge weapons that can not only speak but who yell out things like “hit me harder, daddy”. In an effort to have the curse removed Ruby sets out to meet the Fox Demon - who tells her the curse will be removed if she poses as his mate for a week at the Winter Festival.

I laughed so hard.
