Happy Romance Bookstore Day. Let me know what you‘re wegrabbing and I‘ll report back later. 😉😘
This was recommended from my #auldlangspine match @DGRachel - but I‘m very hit or miss with romance. I‘m not sure if it was timing, or just me but I did not really love this. I know many people do- because it only came last week from digital library wait list.
Well I‘m done with this series. I didn‘t really like the first book but I finished it because I am a fan of the author (both her earlier books and podcast). However, this in the series the heroines are just mean. This one had a great start and set-up, but the banter - rather than being funny and sexy - is just mean spirited. I am all for a feminist romance novel, but it should it be at the detriment of the romance?⬇️
A big improvement over the Bareknuckle Bastards series. Not my favorite MacLean, but enjoyable. Listened to this for February #Roll100. @PuddleJumper
I'm not saying I reread this because I'm a sucker for heroes like Clayborn and love the antics of the Belles, but I'm not not saying that either. #reread #historicalromance
It started out pretty well, but then I got a bit bored in the middle. Not bad but not the best. But Mary Jane Wells is a fabulous narrator, one of my faves.
Book 3 for #winterreadathon - even though it‘s a non-holiday book, it‘s a library loan so I made an exception
Finished this last week. I was sick and needed a quick easier read, so I picked this up. This was my #doublespin for this month.
This is the 2nd book in the Hell‘s Belles series. The only thing that stopped this from being 5 stars was the fact that there was like 5 pages where Addie and Henry go back and forth with her being worth it. It was just a bit annoying and too long.
🥳🥳🥳
Finished my goodreads challenge early! Read 200 books in 2022!
Now let‘s see how many I actually read!
Took a sick day from work. Been fighting a sinus infection all week and just couldn‘t handle today.
So the day calls for historical romance, Harry Potter and the couch 💚.
Picked up a Sarah Maclean which I haven‘t read in forever. Now I want to start it even though I already have 3 books going. 😭😂
Book 2 of the Hell‘s Belles series is even better than the first! Adelaide and Henry‘s love story is a delight and the banter is amazing. I love how the Belles show up for each other and the undercurrent of feminism, strength, and perseverance. These women are bad assets and their men love them for it. And the peek at Imogen and Tommy‘s story at the end? Chef‘s kiss!
Holy CATS, Batman. This book was the perfect combination of sizzle and whump. I am dying and also dead and also in love with the Duke of Clayborn. #historicalromance
Sarah MacLean kills it, as usual. Loved her latest and so happy her novels seem to always come out right around my birthday, they‘re always a gift to myself! I‘m less enamored with my broken splinted fingers 😞 Some unsolicited advice - if your cat starts puking on the bed in the middle of the night, sometimes it‘s better to let him do it so you don‘t get tangled in the sheets and fall flat on your face, and somehow break your fingers 🤦🏼♀️
Rule number one is that you gotta have fun. OR Rule number one is that you don't fall for a Duke while on a chase through the countryside to rescue a women on her way to Gretna Green before her father gets to her first to murder her. No one said you can't have a little casual flirtation along the way though. Then again, that may be a little wordy.

Delightful! Full of adventure and big romance.
Sarah MacLean does not disappoint. Addie‘s book is as brilliant, fun, and exciting as Addie herself. I love the Belles. The writing is flows wonderfully, the plot is entertaining, and Adelaide and her Duke are almost as explosive as anything Lady Imogen concocts in her lab. Full of laughs, brawls, races from England to Scotland, and more than one night at an inn with only one bed, Heartbreaker is not to be missed!
Changing gears from science fiction romance to historical romance. I've very much been looking forward to this book. #currentlyreading #arc
