A bit of a darker twist for a Santa story. But still kid friendly (but maybe not too young, there is a bit where the bad Santa lists different ways to cook up the reindeer). There is also a "Where's Waldo" element throughout the illustrations, which are stunning.
pickI found this book at the kids school book swap a few years ago. I've not read it yet as my girls were only 2 & 6 at the time. But my 6 year old is almost 11 now and drawn to scary stories so perhaps she is ready for a Koontz?

It's susposed to be white, but I pulled it out of storage and its beige. I can fix it just not this season. And it's full of plastic ornaments with the various house guests. There has always been arguments between myself and other children's librarians if this is a children's book. I sayYES. It's written in the same cadence as Night Before Christmas, and each page has an angel hidden in the picture. There is even a sequel called Robot Santa. I read it every year (until this one).
