Really enjoying this one, tonnes of intrigue and suspense 😁☺️
Really enjoying this one, tonnes of intrigue and suspense 😁☺️
You were right @squirrelbrain this was a cracking thriller! Rules of attraction meets The recovery of Rose Gold; this is dark and gritty, following a group of mean girls at college. Plenty of TWs but it‘s compulsive and has a shocking ending! 😲
Thank you so much @squirrelbrain for your lovely surprise present! 😃 The book sounds really fun! I can‘t wait to start it tonight! (I‘m already counting down till bedtime, absolutely shattered!!) Thank you so much for thinking of me. 😘
This gets mixed reviews on here, but I really liked it. Yes, the characters are all awful, but that‘s the whole point. I could quite easily see how the need to ‘fit in‘ could lead to some of the actions of these girls.
I‘m using this for #darkacademia for #booked2022.
Side-eye from Henry as it‘s raining today, so a day in the campervan reading…. He doesn‘t mind though, as he sits with his face pressed up to the heater!
This month‘s book subscription box.
The book sounds like a perfect fit for #booked2022 #darkacademia. It gets mixed reviews on here but I can see that you liked it Holly @Hooked_on_books so that bodes well!
Also a cute blossom bookmark, some tea, Easter spice chocolate and a foot mask. 🦶
I am not one to typically bail on books (especially thrillers)… But MY GOD were these characters just terrible! Not in the writer sense but just brutally ugly. Which was the point I suppose but it‘s just not for me.🙅🏼♀️
I did not like this book at all. The main characters were too unlikable. The husband was so annoying, he cared about way to much that he just shouldn't have cared about. Everyone was beyond whiney and the ending was so anticlimactic. 1 star.
All The Girls Are So Nice Here is an intoxicatingly ugly story about what it takes to fit in. It is youthful and fun at times, and heavy and mature at others. I hope that the official copies of this book carry a trigger warning, for suicide and bullying specifically.
I would recommend this book to fans of Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl, and Megan Miranda.
This book is basically Gossip Girl with a dead body and a whodunnit thrown in. Unfortunately, aging up the characters means that you get a bunch of people in their 30s talking and acting like teenagers. The premise was intriguing, it started strong, but I‘m afraid The Girls Are All So Nice Here fell flat for me. Full review: https://keepingupwiththepenguins.com/new-releases/

Sully from the tagged book, is the ultimate mean girl. She's on the road to hell with zero good intentions. Everything she did felt malicious. Great book though.
The mean girl frienemies trope taken to an entirely different level!
This thriller bounces back & forth between a 10 year college reunion and the characters' freshman year, where they're struggling to make the adjustment to their new lives - & each other. Backstabbing, lies & drama ensue until the unthinkable happens. Now someone wants revenge for what happened, & the stakes are higher than ever. The truth may not come out, but the claws will!
Deeply unimpressed when I received my new book from amazon like this.. 😒🤨😡
Lots of mean girls here. Sort of fun twist ending. Good narration. But overall, just meh. #audiobook
❐ Overall Rating 3¾⭐ | Narration 😁 = Very Good
As many other readers have said...these girls are not nice. Not nice at all. If you have to like your MC, then this book isn‘t for you. In fact, this has a slew of unlikeable characters including one that‘s out for revenge...and you know what they say about revenge...it‘s best when served cold...possibly with some just desserts? The question is; did the guilty get what they deserve or not?
Fantastic book about female friendships, and their often dark underbellies. Ambrosia Wellington is invited to her tenth college reunion, but she doesn‘t really want to revisit that time or the people she knew then. But someone is making it impossible to stay away. Couldn‘t put it down.
Amb receives an invite to her Wellesley reunion and really doesn‘t want to go, as she would rather bury her past. h”However, she ends up roped into it, and then things get really dark. This is a great thriller with timelines alternating between now and her freshman year, when the events occurred. I liked it a lot and was truly surprised several times.
Bitches are never nice, they turn their backs on you whenever it‘s convenient for them. This book was toxic, it alternates between past and present, there were some parts that were a bit messy, but a good read. Just to be clear, you will not love these girls.
I loved this book! I got totally submerged in it and didn‘t want to stop reading. It didn‘t have a ton of twists, and it probably guessable, but I really liked her writing.
Starting this one ☝🏻! It‘s labeled as a psych thriller, so I hope it delivers!
Perfect book mail to start the week The Girls Are So Nice Here dark chilling getting rave reviews, thanks @simonbooks
Oof this is a bit of a gut punch, but it was good. See spoilers in comments for content warnings
I love me a campus novel, and adding mean girls only makes it better!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ makes Regina George look like a nun. ScrappyMags.com full review. Amb returns to Wesleyan (10 yr reunion) where whispers abound, rumors are reborn and fake kisses and hugs prevail. Amb is married, but she has kept this part of her past in the past. One problem - someone is sending “I-know-what-you-did” letters to her..This one is SINISTER. Get ready for the muck of wicked people. Wade in it. Watch out for the sharks. They are circling.
This is one of those books which has MCs that you love to hate. Sully & Amb display grade A nastiness & cruelty when they decide to wreck a fellow student's relationship for the heinous crime of being too nice. I flew through it, but I think the ending rather overegged the pudding. 4🌟
TWs: suicide, rape, bullying, drug use, infidelity
Thanks to NetGalley & publishers, HQ, for the opportunity to read an ARC. #NetGalley
I love being the first person to get a book at the library 💅🏼

Ambrosia Francesca Wellington or “Amb” narrates this character driven mystery with dual timelines. The book opens with the receipt of an invitation to her 10 year college reunion- and though Amb doesn‘t want to go, it brings back memories of her tumultuous freshman year of college- her roommate, friend and the lies and secrets. Though interesting, the reader is manipulated here a bit- and the characters are hard to like! A discussion starter!
This is a familiar trope in our culture. Kind of like, I Know What You Did Last Summer. But tropes aren't always bad and this was a very interesting take. It's also a look at women's relationships with each other and mean girl culture. The nastier side of how woman can be towards each other. I could hardly put it down and stayed up way past my bedtime to finish. Its part mystery and part thriller. Would recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
