The Venue: A Wedding Novel | T J Payne
3 posts | 3 read | 5 to read
Welcome to The Venue.. Where "discretion is our profession." Amy's ex-boyfriend has done quite well for himself. He's made a lot of money, he's found true love, and now, he's getting married at a secluded, high-end resort in the Alps. He wants to treat Amy (and all the other people he had a falling out with over the years) to a luxurious, all-expense-paid trip to his destination wedding. He, of course, has gotten over the break-up. He harbors no grudges. He just wants everyone to have a little fun. The newest release from the writer of INTERCEPTS and IN MY FATHER'S BASEMENT. REVIEWS: "TJ Payne delivers and is an author to watch." -- The Haunted Reading Room Reviews "Bloody, ridiculous fun" "Wow! Absolutely speechless! My heart is still racing!" "A wild, twisted, wicked ride that I want to go on again!" "If you enjoy books that are thrilling, interesting, unputdownable and that explore human nature ... then you HAVE GOT TO READ THIS!!"

Welcome to The Venue! Enjoy your wedding in luxurious surroundings whilst we take care of every last detail. Invite your estranged family & frenemies - it'll be a wedding to die for!

When Amy receives an invitation to childhood friend, Caleb Hunt's wedding in an exclusive resort, her first thought is to wonder why he has invited her & her parents. They haven't been close ever since they left school. (continued)

OutsmartYourShelf They haven't been close ever since they left school. They decide to go anyway & at first the resort is everything they could have dreamed. It seems strange that the guestlist is full of people who aren't exactly Caleb's closest friends & relatives but it all becomes clear when the bride & groom announce that everyone is locked in & you can only leave if you kill another guest first! 2w
OutsmartYourShelf This was a fun read in a sick, twisted kind of way. Caleb & his bride Lilith decide to wreak revenge on those they believe have wronged them. Is it over-the-top campy horror? Yes & I'm there for it. Note that this book has a high kill number so please check out the TWs before reading.

TWs: strong language, suicidal thoughts, drug use, violence, murder, blood, gore.

A delightfully dark horror with some humor. If you liked the horror movies Ready or Not and The Menu, this is definitely for you. 4.5⭐️

CogsOfEncouragement I love Ready or Not! Thanks for the reminder about The Menu. I forgot about that one but had heard good things. 3w
Nessavamusic @CogsOfEncouragement The Menu is great-highly recommend! 3w

Book 1 of #Screamthon - Amy, her plus-one, and her parents are invited to her middle grade best friend‘s wedding out of the blue. It‘s an all-expenses paid trip to Europe that no one can resist.
This has been compared to Battle Royale and Ready or Not. RoN is because it‘s set at a wedding. BR is fair, although I thought it had more similarities to The Belko Experiment. I liked it and read it in a little over a day.

Bookzombie This is box 20 for #Bookspinbingo I will get a card made at some point. 🎃 3y
Reggie I just finished this series on Netflix called Squid Game and it‘s basically Battle Royale for the indebted with a heavy theme of what Capitalism does. Anyways if you haven‘t seen it you might like it. Your nice review made me think of it. 3y
alisiakae Great review! 🖤🧡 @Reggie Squid Games is SO popular right now! Teens love it and I hear so many moms complain about the show. I‘m like, move over kid, I want to watch too 😂 3y
Bookzombie @Reggie @4thhouseontheleft Thank you! I hadn‘t really paid attention to what Squid Game was about, but I will definitely have to check it out. 3y
