Really liked the interplay of viewpoints between Pattyn and her sister Jackie, who are both recovering from traumas, and are separated geographically, but constantly in each others‘ hearts 💕 Sequel to Burned

I really enjoyed the second book in this duology series. Also, there are a lot of themes that sprout out of this duology series, and the most important thing to understand from this series is that love returns at different times and in many forms in a person's life, and that as people, when something is truly wrong--wrong in a senseof actions and words that leads to the endangerment of others-- within our proximity, we must fight that wrong.
I must confess I was put off by the written in verse aspect before I read the first book in this series. The raw emotions of Pattyn's life work well in poetic form. There's much more teen angst and emotion in this. While it is understandable, it does sometimes lean toward melodrama. All in all, it's decent work and I see why my students like Hopkins's work. Crank is also on my TBR.
I really liked this. It was one of the few times I've enjoyed the sequel more than the first book. The twist at the end was great too!
