All is lost. To save everyone she loves from imminent death, kitsune shapeshifter Yumeko gave up the final piece of the Scroll of a Thousand Prayers. Now she and her ragtag band of companions must make one desperate final effort to stop the Master of Demons from using the scroll to call the Great Kami Dragon and make the wish that will plunge the empire into chaos. Shadow clan assassin Kage Tatsumi has regained control of his body and agreed to a true deal with the devilthe demon inside him, Hakaimono. They will share his body and work with Yumeko to stop a madman, and to separate Hakaimono from Tatsumi and the cursed sword that trapped the demon for nearly a millennium. But even with their combined skills and powers, this unlikely team of heroes knows the forces of evil may be impossible to overcome. And there is another player in the battle for the scroll, a player who has been watching, waiting for the right moment to pull strings that no one even realized existeduntil now.

5/5 for the last in this trilogy! The end to this trilogy was so awesome! I was on the edge of my seat. There were tears though and some laughing. I highly recommend this series.

“I‘ll find you,” he murmured. “I promise, Yumeko. No matter how long it takes, how far I have to travel, even if it takes me several lifetimes, I‘ll keep looking. My appearance might change, my name might be different, but you are the other half of my soul. It won‘t stop searching until it‘s found you again.”

I haven‘t cried this much over the ending of a book in a long time. No life isn‘t fair. But that shouldn‘t stop you from making the right decisions
I don‘t know why this final book of the trilogy had negative views. Yes it was a painful ending, but the writing and emotions felt across the pages was immense. When you‘re fighting demons and magic for the power of a god, but did you expect? Either way, I‘ll miss this ragtag group of miscreants #lgbtq

Can I just take a moment to relay how much I love Yumeko? Even when she says she is just a half-Kitsune with no real strength, she still says they have to help everyone that needs assistance. She never shy away from those in need, no matter the evil magic against them. Let alone how much the gang following her goes along with her pleas. I love her so much.
Also. I love the side duos enemies to friends to lovers. That‘s growth #lgbtq

August #BookSpinBingo @TheAromaofBooks & NEWTs Class-transfiguration-levelE-prompt-Draconifors Spell=Book with dragon in the title. I have mix feelings with last book in the trilogy (Are we sure this will be the last book?🤔). In my opinion battles were deliberately extensive like to extend the story. There was a part that I didn't want to end like that due to the relationship with Yumeko. Very sad parts😢But still love it 3.9⭐️not common opinion

BookishGirl06 This was such an amazing end to the trilogy. But the ending is just 😩😭 4y
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! 4y
Gissy @BookishGirl06 Yes, it was sad☹️but that ending made me think that we can have a 4th book in a future. 4y

BookishGirl06 @Gissy as far as I know, the author isn‘t planning more. But I would love more. Especially to find out about Okame‘s past 4y
Gissy @BookishGirl06 That sounds interesting! Will see. These authors wait for a couple of years and then write something related with the previous books like with Hunger Games, Twilight and Mary Lu series. But it is not necessary. Okame, Daisuke, Reika, Tatsumi😔 4y
Gissy @BookishGirl06 I'm planing to read the Iron King series by this author. I hope I like it too. 4y
BookishGirl06 @Gissy that‘s a good one. I just finished that one not too long ago and there‘s a new one coming soon 4y

What a powerful finale to a phenomenal trilogy! Half-kitsune (fox shapeshifter) Yumeko and her friends must join forces with demonslayer Tatsumi and Hakaimono, the fearsome demon who has possessed him, in order to stop even darker forces from summoning the Great Kami Dragon and making an irrevocably destructive wish. Nail-biting suspense, terrifying foes, and heart-wrenching losses drive the action relentlessly to a haunting, pitch-perfect end. 🖤

I love this series! The authors writing style remains in your head weeks after finishing the novel. A vast array of characters and mythical creatures. Plot is all about how the beat up cast out triumphantly tackles challenges, kind of reminds me of Narnia. There is violence to children in the book, but it's so full of weird stuff it didn't bother me. 5 💫💫💫💫💫 All 3.

There was one huge negative to this last book in the Shadow of the Fox trilogy which I can‘t say since it would be a major spoiler. Other than that, it was fantastic. I‘d love to read more books that incorporate Japanese mythology! #panasian #booked2020

Cinfhen Did you just read all 3!???? 4y
alisiakae @Cinfhen No! I read the first one a year or so ago, and read the other two the first 2 weeks of this month. 😄 4y

An excellent ending to the series. It truly ended and it had a very nice epilogue that wrapped up some questions but didn‘t give too much. We learn more about Yumeko‘s parents, who and more interestingly why, the mysterious man has been trying to manipulate the story, and why the demon master was released. Action packed and fast paced, this was fun and intense. Expect a typical Asian ending but an American epilogue. 4/5 stars

I just finished this. It was so amazing and action packed. I could not believe some of the things that happened or how it ended. I loved Yumeko so much. She was so much fun to read about. Spoilers in comments ⬇️⬇️⬇️

BookishGirl06 Tatsumi‘s death was so sad though, I couldn‘t believe it 😭. In the end it seems like he might have found a way back to her, but this book was brutal about not letting anyone survive. Seigetsu was an interesting villain 5y
Caffeinated_Reader 😭😭😭😭😭 I cried so much too with this book. At least she found him in the end, not Tatsumi body but his essence 😔 I thought it was spectacularly done :) she is one of my all time favorite characters, Yamiko 💜 5y

BookishGirl06 @Caffeinated_Reader same. I really wanted him to survive and for them both to be happy together but alas. Yumeko is the best I agree 5y
Caffeinated_Reader Absolutely ☺️☺️☺️ I‘m so happy to have someone to talk about it with!!! 5y
BookishGirl06 @Caffeinated_Reader same. I feel like I don‘t see too many people talk about this series 5y
Caffeinated_Reader @BookishGirl06 I know! I‘ve been recommending it since book 1. I feel like this book came out really quickly after book 2 🤔 not that I‘m complaining lol 5y
BookishGirl06 @Caffeinated_Reader I‘m glad though cause I‘d be dying to know how it ended if it still wasn‘t out yet. Lol 5y

No Daisuke! Okame! 😥🥺 I knew this was gonna happen but it still is so sad. Daisuke finally got the glorious death he wanted at least. So sad and yet it somehow seems fitting that they would die together. 😭😭

Caffeinated_Reader Yes!!!! I was wrecked when this happened 😔 5y

#36 and this is book 3, the final book in the series. Yumeko is easily one of my favorite characters in any book I‘ve read. She‘s so smart and kind but tuff as nails. She is the main reason I fell in love with the story and her loyalty and protection over her friends is so pure and inspiring. I can‘t wait to see what‘s in store🦊👘🗡🐉

Caffeinated_Reader That was such an excellent ending to a trilogy. The battles, the bravery, all the hope and love mixed in between, made this story remarkable. I loved it. I love it! (edited) 5y

This series surprised me so much with how quickly I fell in love with it and the final installment was the perfect ending. Action packed, heartbreaking and so slowly satisfying.
