There was one huge negative to this last book in the Shadow of the Fox trilogy which I can‘t say since it would be a major spoiler. Other than that, it was fantastic. I‘d love to read more books that incorporate Japanese mythology! #panasian #booked2020

Cinfhen Did you just read all 3!???? 4y
alisiakae @Cinfhen No! I read the first one a year or so ago, and read the other two the first 2 weeks of this month. 😄 4y

My final #Booked2020 for this quarter. I tried Jade City for #silkpunk but gave up quickly: too violent for me. This is Asian (but not #PanAsian?) a sweet and reflective, but not gripping, Japanese novel. The premise: the narrator is dying soon, and the (badly dressed) Devil will give him an additional day of life for each category of objects he can eliminate from the world. Each one prompts insights into how he has lived and what really matters.

Blackink_WhitePaper Oh thank you so much @Cinfhen 😀👍 4y
Cinfhen I hope you love it @CarolynM I‘ll be waiting for your review 💗 4y
Crazeedi @Cinfhen ok I'm stupid, what's tartan noir 4y
Crazeedi @Cinfhen or silk punk? I'm so dumb! 4y
Cinfhen Definitely NOT DUMB @Crazeedi Tartan Noir and Silk Punk are both sub genres of books. Tartan Noir is Scottish crime fiction/ NF either set in Scotland or by Scottish author. silkpunk is a blend of science fiction and fantasy with Asian roots/ culture 4y
Crazeedi @Cinfhen thank you Cindy! 4y

When jia jia walks into the bathroom of her Beijing home to find her husband unresponsive in the bath it sparks a story of how her life changes which include new relationships, magical dreams abt fish men, art, a journey to tibet, and discovering herself and her mother/father. A unique book which i loved. Not sure if fits in the #PanAsian bracket but for now a good way to start spring #booked2020 @Cinfhen @BarbaraTheBibliophage @4thhouseontheleft

Cinfhen We are very looseygoosey with our parameters.... if YOU think it works, then WE think it works!!! After all, it‘s YOUR reading challenge ♥️😁📚 5y

I don‘t know if you ever feel ready for your heart to break, but if you do, then read this book! Vuong writes beautifully, and you can definitely tell he is a poet. His writing flows and wraps around your heart, and ties your stomach into knots. It is breathtaking in all its rawness, and I‘m so happy I finally read this!
