Political activist and social media star, Candace Owens, tells why she and others are turning right as the liberal policies and ideals hinder the black's ability to rise above the poverty level. Turning right leaves them happier, more successful and self-sufficient. Candace claims that government give-aways equal more taxation.

Much of what Candace Owens has to say here struck a chord with me. I appreciate that she backs up her history & statistics with references at the end. The book loses a couple of stars because of her use of absolutes when discussing groups and by degrading all liberals. Not *all* of one group acts, thinks or feels the same (which is her own point regarding black conservatives), and I don‘t think we get anywhere by degrading other people. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5
Been busy lately. Lots of activities for the kids, which is AWESOME… So I am reading while the de-sparkle processes on my hair. 😉 #nomoregray
This chapter is speaking to me - On Excuses. I try to teach my kids this - there‘s a solution to every problem. Instead of coming to me with a problem and an excuse, let‘s figure out the solution. No one gets ahead by making excuses. Hard work is the common denominator for successful people.
I love how Candace thinks. My favorite chapter is "On Culture". HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I received this for my birthday from my dear friend @Eggs . Thank you Sherri! I am looking forward to reading this book.
I really enjoyed reading this. Every once in a while I like a book that has me doing further research. This was it.
*pictured is Lucy Gray telling me to stop folding laundry and go back to reading, so she can return to sleeping whole being groomed.
Great book. 4/5 ⭐️ with great narration by the author.
She touches on so many important, complex concepts with nonsense and integrity. I think she's one of the best black women leaders in our country. Who also happens to be conservative.
Glad I took the time to read it; I look forward to more from this intelligent woman.

I will admit that I read this because of all the negative feedback this book received before it was even released. I feel people are entitled to their own opinion and found her talking points and data interesting.

...and in this country and many others our biggest concern is society using accurate gender pronouns. Entitled much?

I have about 20+ black authors that I follow so I could never get them all in 1 post! But this one is my most current one. Candace is eloquent, intelligent, fair minded, and does excellent research to fortify her writing.

Maybe we ought to blame Disney movies--our earliest point of indoctrination that there needs to be a hero and a bad guy in every story line. The hero wins, the villain loses, and the credits roll.

• Just finished the part about the hate crime she experienced in high school. Her analysis gets you thinking about people and how they behave aggressively when they are emotionally hurt. To condemn someone for wrong behavior for the rest of their lives isn't fair to them or ourselves if we want to avoid the black and white victim/perpetrator narrative. People are more than their worst behavior, they are human beings.

...If this narrative sounds familiar to you, it may be because it has become part and parcel of our mainstream media agenda. A school shooting takes place, only to have the survivors hijacked by gun control activists looking to jam through their policies in a time of high emotion. A black man is killed by a police officer, and his image is used to further the narrative that white cops are murdering black men for sport...
• Recent Library Haul was very small but this one packs a punch and really brings the 🔥 to ongoing issues in #society. Thank God for common sense people like Mrs. Owens (and congrats to the author, who recently became a mother). Hope to dive back in later tonight; I think I'm in for a treat!! •

The biggest problem in the black community is not racism, inequality, lack of access to health care, climate change, the alleged need for "commonsense gun control laws," or any of number of the arguments Democrats pitch to blacks to secure that 90-percent-plus black vote. The number one problem in the black community, as Owens told Congress, is a lack of fathers in the home.

What have blacks gotten for their loyalty to the Democrat party? Democrats preach and teach blacks to think and act like perpetual victims, eternally plagued by "institutional" or "structural" or "systemic" racism, never mind overwhelming evidence to the contrary. After all, this is a country that, in 2008, elected a black man for president, and in 2012, despite a tepid economy, reelected him.

Reparations are the extraction of money from people who were never slave owners to be given to people who were never slaves. It is revenge for something that was done to ancestors at the expense of people who had nothing to do with it.

Incandescent. Bright. Most of all, Owens is courageous. These are just some of the adjectives that describe this young, charismatic female who happens to be black and who happens to challenge the notion that blacks should retain their near-monolithic support for the Democrat party.

Candace Owens makes her case for why black America needs to stop its support for the Democrat Party and its policies. While she directs her voice to the black community, I think it's good advice for all Americans. She tackles issues such as family, feminism, education, the media, and faith. She has researched each of these topics and provides statistics and references to support her opinions.
As I begin this book, I have to say it feels nice to have such a good role model and woman with traditional Conservative views. Too often are normal ways of living frowned upon because we won't accept new age feminism and liberalism. This book redefines normal and living life while valuing men. Conservative women are told to be seen and not heard. Our opinions matter too. It's about living wholesome life freely and accepting others as well. 💗
🎧 I listened to Rage so now this one as I want to stay open minded. The author covers a wide variety of topics & uses logic, science, statistics, public records & personal stories to make her points. A lot of her stats are new to me. It‘s well written & makes for a rather thought provoking read if a little one-sided BUT to be fair she never says she‘s blanketing all topics/sides. Good for what it is. The introduction was interesting too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
