Lost Dog | Litsy

We have just returned from a rainy but lovely summer holiday in Devon at my mother in laws holiday park. They have lots of lovely 2nd hand book shops locally and also a book swap telephone box in which I found the above book. I‘m so excited to have found Lost Dog as I have wanted to read it for ages but it‘s very expensive 1st hand. I will be taking it to our local Brighton book swap to continue its journey after I‘ve read it ☺️❤️

This is a charming read and a must for all dog lovers! It started to get monotonous for me by the middle (how many pages can you read about how much she loves her dog and how amazing London is. 🙄) But overall, a heart warming book. 👍 🐕

Cathythoughts Nice review! I‘m reading it right now for IRL Bookclub... I‘m only a quarter in , so it‘s just flowing & brilliant writing , clever & funny .... I hope it continues this way ..... 😬😬😬🐶 Does she go overboard on the dog ! She‘s already trying hard not to .... uh oh ! I‘ll read on 😁 (edited) 5y

Cathythoughts Well we had Bookclub for tagged book last night ... we are all dog owners, bar one , so you can only imagine the conversations... it was a late one ! Kate did not come out of it all that well .... there were a lot of theories ( obsession drugs - obsession dog - what obsession next ? ) she wasn‘t really liked .. worse language was used. I wasn‘t expecting the strong reaction , I thought it was good enough .. scored 5 to 7 .. sparked good chat 5y

Caroline2 @Cathythoughts Ohhhh! Interesting! Yes my mum is a big dog lover & she hated it & bailed halfway?! She said Kate was spoilt and she didn‘t like all the snobby talk or the drug use. That‘s a good point that Kate swapped one obsession for another. It was her husband I felt sorry for. I liked it more when I read it than I do now. thank you so much for letting me know how it went down. 👍 5y

I really think you need to be a dog lover to enjoy this book. Particularly if you have become a dog owner later in life. I think many people will relate to the author‘s many references to the dog saving her. Very sweet. I liked the writing and the humour in this book. I recommend this if you are a ‘dog‘ person. I don‘t think cat people will appreciate it 😀
