Meljean Brook (who now writes as Milla Vane) is a brilliant writer. She beautifully blends steampunk, paranormal, and historical romance in this series. All four books are perfect.
Got a hankering to finally read the rest of these years after reading the first. Still searching out some of the more obscure short stories.
#24in48 @24in48 #sffchallenge Hour 6 challenge. I love The Iron Seas steampunk series by Meljean Brook. It‘s romantic and her world building skills are amazing.
These are the best I could find for #muscles on my shelves... #aprilbookshowers
I loved this book. If you love steampunk romance, this is the book. This book happen to be the first that I read in steampunk. I also think it's a good place to start for romance lovers who don't have a lot of knowledge of steampunk reading.
I am totally cool with Alpha Males in literature. Jane Eyre is my all-time favorite novel. I am not, however, okay with forced sex being passed off as anything other than rape - it certainly isn't love. If the "romance" portion of this book were removed, you'd have a decent story. I enjoyed the steampunk elements and the adventure, but I'm seething over Ms Brook's idea of romance.
Braved the cold and yuck for a quick run to the library. Thanks to #seasonsreadings2016, I really wanted to read this book now, and my library only had it in print, not ebook. I also grabbed the Richard Engel I had to take back unfinished and the Faulkner I originally had held, but then accidentally cancelled. 😳 #libraryhaul
#Steampunk gets a very sexy makeover. #seasonsreadings2016
@RealLifeReading
#blameitonLitsy I apparently haven't read anything considered #steampunk, so I googled it and looked through a couple of "best of the genre" lists. I found Felicia Day's review of this and I think I have to add it to my TBR! #seasonsreadings2016
This was my first steampunk book and it got me hooked on the genre!
Well, here's my scifi/fantasy shelf. I DEFINITELY fall on the fantasy side (it think 3 of these are scifi and 1 was for school and 1 I got for free, so...). But magic is so much fun! #fantasy #octphotochallenge @LibrarianRyan
